Larry sanders doesnt play center

In the playoffs, the Bucks started Monta Ellis, Brandon Jennings, Larry Sanders, Ersan Ilyasova, and Luc Mbah a Moute.

Who was playing center?

Sanders is 6'11 and was in talks about being DPOY for half of the year, Bogut is much better(intangibles, passing, defense, on par rebounding, scoring) but Jordan has the "potential" to be a decent center if he improves his ft% and defense not there yet though.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
While I am ready for this deal to be over so we can move on, I am also definitely in the 'name the centers that DeAndre' camp, as that list will be a lot shorter.

Of course he has potential and he is exciting, but that doesn't mean he is anywhere near the top 10...yet.

DJ could become a top10 center if he works hard and play 40mn per game. I hope he will be a celtics soon. We need some entertaining basketball now in boston, specially after the end of the PP & KG era.

We don't even need him to be a top 10 Center, but hey, I won't complain if he does.

All I ask for him is 12 or more rebounds (3-4 offensive putbacks) and atleast 2 blocks a game, something he is capable of. I also want him to not be afraid to shoot FT's no matter how horrible he is, it will get better by repetition and being comfortable in that area.

If he does that, he'll have some very good contributions to the team.

I agree with that. The plan could be to make him score 20pts and 10 rebounds. Just pass him the ball most of the time and he will do that. Ok the team will lose but we'll have a nice trade chip.

Howard, Gasol, Gasol, Bynum, KG, Tim Duncan, Lopez, Cousins, Noah, Horford, Chandler, Hibbert, Bogut, Sanders.

14 centers who without a doubt are better than him.

The remaining Centers are all arguably better than him.

Imo Jordan is is prob top 5 worst starting center in the league.

Sure you can project him being better than a retired KG and Duncan in a couple years but then you have tonaccount for guys like Drummond, Nicholson, Noel and other young guys

Your a joke, id take jordan over Bogut, over sanders, over Lopez , pau gasol is not a center, KG plays 20minutes a game, and is 37 years old, Duncan is retiring this year, Bynum missed ALL OF LAST YEAR, has NOT PLAYED ONE FULL YEAR,  jordan is clearly better than Drummond  and Nicholson and Noel(coming off ACL) havent even played in the league, for you to even make that post your a joke, Everyone on this board was so mad the celtics traded perkins and i would take Jordan > perkins any day of the week, KG made perkins the defender he was sought out to be, Perkins makes 8million a year Jordan makes 10. My point is We are getting the center we need and want and HE IS TOP 10 Center. For everyone on this board in anyway thinking we are getting the short side of this trade is a joke, the Celtics are giving away a player who is Retiring after this year and a Coach that makes 7 mill a year and doesnt want to coach this team when KG leaves. End of story this is a STEAL.

oh the irony!

Nice lowercase 'o' at the beginning of you're sentence there...

This thread was a painful read, lol. I'd say DJ is pretty much a lock for the bottom 10-12 starting centers in the league.

I tried to stay away but I just can't, so I had to ask. Are we talking healthy Bogut? If we are, then go ahead and take DeAndre over him and be fired as a GM the next day.

I am also curious and somehow excited to see Jordan play for us, and hope he pans out. I already said that he needs a definitive role and if he does stay true to that role he'll be contributing greatly but c'mon now, youre taking him over Bogut??? Is it because you think he's better or you just like him better? If you think he's better, then may I ask, have you seen Andrew Bogut play? His passing skills alone trumps DeAndre in any sense. He's a better post player, he has a mid range shot and defends better.

Now if it's because you just like him better for reasons outside of Bogut being a better Center, then I guess I rest my case.

Now again, I'm excited to see what he can bring but he's no Top 10 Center. I appreciate the enthusiasm but you're selling him too high.

Dwight Howard, Marc Gasol, Joakim Noah, Roy Hibbert, Brook Lopez, Al Horford, DeMarcus Cousins, Al Jefferson, Greg Monroe (notice I did not even include KG, Bosh, Duncan and Bynum). Those are nine Centers who I think, and many believe are better than him. You're saying he belongs in that list? Over Bogut? Varejao? Gortat? Asik? Tyson Chandler? Nene? Heck, Vucevic is surpassing him in productivity as of now. Pekovic is more productive as well. Double heck, in lesser minutes, Kosta Koufos has pretty similar numbers with DeAndre.

I want to see what he can bring to Boston, but don't sell him too high.
