I would've picked Oden over Durant, and no amount of revisionist history will make me reconsider this.

Me too.

I thought there was no need to trade for KG. Pierce, Allen and Big Al was good enough for me...

Same. Thought Big Al would have gave us the same level of production as KG. Boy, was I wrong.

Also thought JR Bremer was gonna be the real deal... and Marcus Banks... and Shammond Williams. Pretty much every PG that ever laced up a Celtics uniform.

Glad I was right about Rondo, though.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

i thought Marcus Banks was going to be something special and Gerald Green was going to turn out to be like Kobe and T-Mac in his prime

i thought we'd surely get the number 2 pick in 2007

i thought the Big 3 would eventually retire together ([dang] Ray Allen for signing with the Heat!)

i thought we were going to win it all that year we had Shaq and JO

i thought we were going to win it all after we signed Terry, Lee and Darko

I didn't think Danny should have traded Antoine Walker.

I thought Brandan Wright and Corey Brewer would be difference makers.

I was so mad when they passed on Brandan Wright and traded for Ray. I guess it's possible I'm not as astute at judging talent as I once thought. I also hated the idea of drafting Noah. I was certain he'd be a bust.

Oh and you mistakenly put trading Antoine in the "I was wrong" thread.

Many repeats, some new:
Thought Ray would retire in green.
Thought we had enough juice this season to make it to the ECF even without Rondo.
Loved getting Darko, thought he would turn around for sure with KG.
Terrence Williams? ... come on, how is he going to help?
Ronald Shavlik Randolph? ... come on, how is he going to help?
Thought JJJ would develop.
OLDER --
I may never see them hang #17.
Liked DWade.
ML Carr was a good hire.
Dino Radja was going to be an all-star.
Dee Brown was going to be an all-star.
Billups trade was smart.
Vin Baker would shine back in New England.

So many more

After winning a championship, I thought Doc had turned the corner.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

I literally ran a mile and a half home from middle school to catch a press conference, because I was sure it would be a day my grandkids asked me about. Because..

I was wrong when I thought Rick Pitino would be the next Red Auerbach.

Ouch... I thought Pitino knew what he was doing, and Mercer was going to be a star for the Celtics.

I liked the signing/drafting of Kedrick Brown, Telfair, JJJ...

I have to go back to Gerald Green and Ron Mercer.  I thought both were going to stars.  Those were my biggest misses.  Now I just hope I am wrong about KG being done.
Just to follow up based on some other posts, I thought Michael Beasley was going to be as good as Durant(I had forgotten that one).

On Oden/Durant, I did think Durant was better (really) but I don't know if I would have had the guts to actually take him over Oden.

I thought Antoine Walker would become a top PF.
I thought Delonte West would turn into a quality starting PG, possibly borderline all-star.
I thought Avery Bradley would be out of the league by now.

I will see if I can remember the mistakes I have had on this blog because the mistakes I have made off this blog would be to long to list and I would probably die some years from now before being able to finish the list.

So, let's see:

I was wrong to want Tony Allen off this team. He's still a meathead, turns the ball over way to much, has a bad outside shot and a very low BBIQ. But this team needed what he gave them and I was wrong to want him gone.

I was wrong about Ray Allen. I thought for sure he would retire a Celtic and have his number retired here.

I was wrong about wanting Damion James in the draft that the Celtics chose Avery Bradley in, but was right that year that Quincy Pondexter would have been a very good pick as a backup defensive stopper for Pierce. Wanted one or the other and Danny took AB.

I was wrong to think the Celtics couldn't turn the switch in the 2010 playoffs after they went .500 over the last 54 games of that season.

I was wrong that OJ Mayo would be the best player selected in the 2008 draft and was wrong about the trade that sent Mayo to Memphis for Love. Minnesota definitely got the better of that deal.

Speaking of Minnesota, I was wrong that David Kahn was a utterly horrible GM and a complete moron. David Kahn was an utterly horrible GM and only somewhat of a moron.

I've been wrong about some of my NBA CBA interpretations.

I've been wrong to treat some people disrespectfully here at the blog. I apologize for that to those people who I should never have treated that way and have done my time because of it. Please remember this people and treat each other kindly.
