With finals week behind me I've had lots of time to think about my beloved Celtics team. As much as it pains me to say and after lots of back and forth, I feel Danny needs to cash in on Pierce and Garnett while they still have value. The two trades that were heavily rumored that I think is the best value you're going to get for two guys 36+ who are playing on a year to year basis.

Pierce in the 3 way to land Josh Smith

Garnett to LA for Bledsoe and Jordan

Starting line up of

Rondo/Bledsoe (can start until Rondo returns)
Bradley/Lee/Terry
Green/free agent
Smith/Sullinger/Bass
Jordan/free agent

Is this team winning a championship? No of course not. But you become stacked with assets and very tradeable pieces. Say for instance, you let Bledsoe start until the trade deadline to increase his value then move him just before Rondo comes back. Lots of options would arise for Danny and I personally would have a lot of fun watching this team.

I wouldn't mind Pierce being dealt for Smith but the Celts hanging onto KG.

The playoffs have shown me that KG actually has more in the tank than Pierce does and I also start to wonder about Pierce's conditioning.

I think a team of Smith, KG, Green, Rondo and Bradley could be very fun to watch and would also be competitive, which is the most important thing.

I think if you also deal KG, it defeats the purpose of having Smith because for me the idea would be to have KG and Smith make a sweet front court.

If you then add a sharp shooter like JJ Reddick (please get rid of Lee or Terry) and another big via the MLE like JJ Hickson, Tiago Splitter, etc this could be a pretty decent team next year.

The KG trade was never close to happening.  Clippers management wasn't interested... overblown rumor.

Probably. And if they weren't interested in dealing Bledsoe/Jordan for KG 3 months ago, something tells me there's no way in hell they're going to make that move this summer and include Blake.

THAT is where you may be wrong, because they now be desperate to keep CP3 who many say does not get along very well with Blake Griffin.

Well, if that's the case, then Blake is one guy I'd trade KG for.

exactly...

Just because a trade is talked about doesn't mean it's any where close to happening...

You're right, it really was never close to happening.

KG wasn't going to sign off on it.  Didn't matter whether or not the Clips wanted it.

No, I don't know how you don't add in the Ray for Mayo deal... that's gotta be number 1 in threads like these.

I don't agree that those 2 should have happened but it wouldn't be the worse trades (aside from how I would FEEL about them).
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
