Nate has been very good for the Bulls so far in the playoffs, averaging 17 ppg in 30 mp, shooting 50/36/82% - by far his most efficient playoff ball.  Maybe he needed a coach  like Thibs to rein him in and coach him up.

No Nate, no second round for the Bulls. I don't think he will get big bucks,  but something like two years at $2.5m per, for the reasons mentioned earlier in this thread.  Could a team win with Nate on it.  Of course, if the first six or seven guys in front of him in the  rotation were real good.  Is it more likely for Team X to win with a more traditional guard than with a midget gunner like Nate?  Yes.
If Nate was the backup PG on the Heat instead of Cole, would they win?  Yes.

Ironically,  there might not be a spot for Nate on the Bulls next year at $2.5m, with Rose coming back and Teague readying for backup minutes.  Third PGs usually have vetmin salaries.

Don't want Nate back.  Would MUCH rather have Hibbert.  Celtics need to draft a couple bigs... and hope that they don't turn out stiffs like Melo.

Know what the Melo pick reminds me of? Jerome Moiso at pick #11
To be fair the 2000 draft was really, really craptacular.
Celtics should have traded it into 2001.

Of course if we had drafted Tony Parker instead of Joe Forte, a lot of things would have gone better for us.  And why did we give up on Joe Johnson so quickly again, anyone?

Oh yeah, in the trade package we got back Rodney Rogers and Tony Delk.  *facepalm*

How are these two related in any way? They're not the same position, not the same caliber...not in any way mutually exclusive.

It's like comparing Bass with...Jrue Holiday.

But, yes, T-Will is showing promise as a playmaker and he's a better choice. The nice drive and kick game from T-Will is perfect for our bench.

What? Nate played a huge role in some of the 2010 playoff games. He's fearless. And he fit in here very well. So did Delonte West. How much better would we have been on offense in that NYK series with Nate? I'm gonna go ahead and speculate he would've won us a game or two, just as he just did for the Bulls... haters, man.

Really, I recall one game where he played a role and the rest was yawn time.  I think your memory is a little biased in his favor.  I also, point to the fact that you like West who spent more time hurt than on the court.

Fearless is good sometimes but fearless guys can get you or get you killed too.

He won't make a diff for a team without a good big like Noah to cover the paint for him.

Celtics are needing a couple foundation players (franchise types) to build around.

I think the Celtics are headed down the road to be Orlando Magic of the Northeast

Adding nothing to nothing equals nothing.

But if we brought Nate back we could run a Rondo Bradley Crawford Robinson Williams undersized shoot-first combo-guard bonanza.

I'd watch that.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Nate Robinson didn't fit in here last time.

What is different? Same player, same coach, same system, same role he'd be asked to fill.

Nothing has changed.

think same coach, same system is right
if you did bring nate back, you'd obviously want him to play a role similar to that of the bulls.
but i do think he'll get big bucks this summer. so no, we can't bring him back.
The role he plays for the Bulls doesn't exist on this team. Being a mediocre to poor defending, ball hogging, non-passing, shoot first, inefficient shooter that doesn't care how bad the shot he is taking is is not a role Doc has ever allowed to exist on this team.

And for that, I applaud Doc.

Great.
I guess that role has no place in the NBA...seeing as how, ykno, we're out of the playoffs and Nate gets to play in the 2nd round.
Jesus, Doc is so smart. And OBVIOUSLY, Thibs has 0 control over Nate.

Dont know why I didnt think of that.
Chicago is going on because they have a much better team than the Celtics.

1.  With Rose and Hinrich and Deng out, Chicago is NOT a much better team than Boston.

2.  Part of being a better team is having Nate and letting him play the way he has.  Yeah, he'll play like crap sometimes and lose you games.  He'll also win you some games virtually all by himself, which is exactly what he did for Chicago in the playoffs.

3.  There's no way to argue with someone who doesn't care about actual results and the way things are instead of their pet theories about the way things should be.
