so many great performances...KG, the Capt, Jet, Green...but Bass single-handedly kept the Celtics in the game when we were down 11-0...let me repeat...11-0....especially after getting bashed on Celtics Blog all year like a pinada...Bass deserves a little love...

What if this thread was made by my man Krook?

But Bass has been great this series. He's done good. I have nothing bad to say about him. I myself never bashed him but I was disappointed. He's turned it around tho and chose a great time to do so.

So happy for him. I was ripping on him for majority of season which I tjink was deserved.

During this series tho he has been stellar. Really couldn't habe asked for anything more.

Especially last night. Just all hustle and work. He wasn't draining jumpshots he was just finding ways to score by any means necessary

Bass deserves more more estimation for great plays in last 2 games Vs Caramelo. Very very solid defender.

I was just about to start a similar thread. Can't deny the impact, almost silent impact, that Bass had last night and recently. He's playing tough and isn't backing down, he's pretty reliable with his jumper (something we desperately need) and he's doing all that dirty work.

I've been down on him this year but he really does deserve props right now. Keep it up young man.

I have been very dissapointed with Bass for the vast majority of this season, but in the last 10-15 games of the season and this entire playoff series he has been fantastic.

It's really amazing the changes i've seen

My biggest criticisms for Bass have usually been:
1. Shot selection
2. Bass passes and unforced turnovers
3. Poor ball movement
4. Mediocre defense
5. Mediocre rebounding

This series he hasput all of those criticisms to rest.  He has defended and rebounded with heart and incredible effort, he's not taken a single bad shot and he's made the perfect play pretty much every single time he's touched the ball.

Even his virtually scoreless first three or four games didn't bother me because he did SO MUCH stuff so well.  The way he scored today when we needed it was just the icing on the cake.

Much love and respect for Bass and the way he has played this series.

I can't imagine anyone being more down on Bass than me this year.  I might also add, he deserved it.  However, he has been really good in the playoffs so far.  He does better matched up against a smaller player rather than a C or true PF so the Knicks match up well for him.

That turn around bank shot he hit over Chandler, who is a legit defensive player of the year candidate every season was perhaps the biggest shot of that fourth quarter that was filled with big shots.  Just having the guts to make a post move against someone like Chandler and taking the shot was impressive, not to mention actually hitting it.

And he has been rebounding with energy which I can't say was always the case this year.

Very impressed with Bass.  This is what I expected to see all year.

glade this thread was started.

Bass saved the c's. early on,  we were down and looked defeated ,

Bass steped up like a vet should and made some plays that defied the games we saw earlier in the year from him.

you could see the C's coming alive starting with Bass's energy.

KG, Bass , TWill and Green all special moments last night.

refuse to die attitude by the C's

For the playoffs, Bass by far has the best offensive/defensive rating differential on the team, at 122/99.

(The Captain?  Er, not so much, at 87/101.)

I'm one of Bass' biggest anti-fans and I threw him a bouquet of roses in yesterday's game thread.  He had me swallowing my curses!  I had several NO NO NO YESSS moments with him last night.  The first was when he stole a pass at the top of the key and then decided to dribble it all the way to the hoop by himself.  It didn't appear to be a promising decision and I was screaming at him to stop what he was doing and pass the ball but no, to my surprise, he actually laid it in.  He was fortunate that the lone man back in time was Carmelo with his indifferent transition D.

Bass' unlikely coast to coast layup foreboded other unlikely things to come from him, like: getting an offensive rebound and finishing over a much bigger guy in Chandler.  I was screaming for him to pass it back out but he one-upped me again.  Another great unlikely play from Bass was a sweet bank shot on a post up in a very key point of the game in the fourth.  That was Brandon Bass, ice-cold run killer.

He's been great so far during the playoffs which is a 180 degree turn from how he played in last year's playoffs and for most of this regular season.  It's great to see and I never thought that between him, Green, and Pierce, he'd be the most effective defender of Carmelo Anthony.  We need him to have a really solid playoffs considering he's one of only two big men getting minutes in Doc's playoff rotation.
