Don't forget that Al Davis sued in court to win the right to relocate his NFL team. Don't be shocked if the Maloofs fight this.
Until they make a statement and the sale to new ownership committed to staying is going through I wouldn't call it over.
I would be pretty shocked if they did. The family has lost quite a lot of their wealth and they need the money. The Sac bid was no slouch, their preference towards the Sonic was more or less malicious towards Sacramento.
I think they'll take their money and shut up already.
And Seattle has NOT shown itself deserving of an NBA team?

While there are many, many cultural and technological differences between 2013 and 2006, I think it's pretty clear that Sacramento did exactly what Seattle refused to do when Schultz sold the team to the OKC ownership group. Whether that be the Here We Stay campaign or the development of a competitive arena deal.
Everyone knows that Seattle had their team stolen by Clay Bennett. But not everyone believes that that fact gave them eminent domain over the Kings.
Good points. I have followed the Kings situation rather closely because I listen to a radio show out there, and it's been a very hard fight for Sac to keep their team and they very truly deserve it.
If you guys get a chance you should look up a guy named Carmichael Dave. He helped start basically all the efforts to keep the team, got fired from the radio station he worked at (the Kings "home" station-- probably because the Maloofs didn't appreciate his efforts) and then he even toured the country and went to the meetings in NYC in a big Kings RV.
Their fans are genuine and they fought very hard. I am hopeful now under new ownership they get a new GM and turn things around.
