Why didn't we just keep Keyon?

I'm watching him play well against the Clips and of course we see Terry was a big zero. After Keyon was solid in last years playoffs and with how much he meant to everyone as a teammate, why wasn't it obvious to Danny and Doc that it was a sound move to just activate him to back up Lee, Avery and Terry? This is Doc we are talking about who played no bench bigs today, and who loves vets.

The way Danny and Doc think and act is mystifying. Dooling averaged nearly 38% from three his last 5 years

Well Keyon chose to retire himself, so it has nothing to do with Danny or Doc. They couldn't resign him once he decided to play again for some CBA rule.
