57-25, 2nd seed in the East.

It'd probably take a major injury to someone in South Beach for the Celts to win the East and I'm not hoping for that (even though I loathe Miami).

I thinking the master plan will be to make a little bit of KG and Pierce go a LONG WAY.  This means playing them enough to stay in the playoff chase and winning important games to make the playoffs. Not playing them the final  5 games..... Guess around  50 /32 .

Allen left because Lebron is his "ring ticket" .  I suspect if  LA can get by OKC , it will be the LA and Miami.

stomping the rest of the league doesn't mean so much ultimatley if the C's can't control Lebron. We'll always be playing for  2nd place in the east.

For the record: I'm not saying that I think we can't beat Miami; I think we can, if all the puzzles fall into place. I just think they'll have the better record in the regular season. We'll have to steal a game or two down in sunny FLA in the playoffs.

Talent on the roster: good enough for 58-62 wins.

Likely season record due to the typical Celtics coasting + the ups-and-downs that result from getting all the new pieces integrated:

53-57 wins.

2nd / 3rd seed.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Given we've had the worst luck in the league for 4 straight years I think the basketball gods will cut us a break this year.  If we go through the entire season with no MAJOR injuries, I see no problem winning:

65 games.

And so long as we don't have more than one injury at a time I can't see us winning less than 60ish.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
