I like Courtney Lee. He is a really good role player.

However, I think his role here in Boston should be fairly small since there are three superior guards here already in Rajon Rondo, Jason Terry and Avery Bradley. So not particularly excited about Lee. Happy to have him but not overly excited. Small bit worried about Doc taking minutes away from better players and giving them to Lee too.

I actually would have liked to have seen Courtney Lee find himself a better home than Boston. He is too good a player for the role Boston will be asking him to fill. He deserves a bigger role than that. I think C-Lee should have gone elsewhere. Did himself a disservice coming here. Should have gone somewhere where he could get 30-35 minutes a night as a starter on a quality playoff team / title contender.
No team that would play him 30-35 minutes as a starter will be a "quality playoff team / title contender" and that really is the bottom line.

So you're saying that, as a player, he's significantly worse than the likes of Derek Fisher or Joel Anthony, or that those Lakers/Heat teams were't title contenders?
No I am saying that he came to Boston because it was the only title contender where he could possibly start and have any shot at 30-35 minutes a game.

Clippers might have, before they signed Crawford (I actually think he would have been a GREAT fit for them).  But, overall, I agree.  There just weren't a lot of better options out there, if he wanted to win (and I think winning is really important to reviving his career).

Totals:

Rondo: 35
Garnett: 30
Pierce: 30
Green: 28
Bass: 26
Wilcox: 24
Terry: 23
Lee: 22
Bradley: 22

I think this is mostly correct (it is a pre-preseason prediction afterall), but I sure hope we don't play Wilcox 24 minutes.  I see Collins playing 12-16 valuable minutes and maybe even Sullinger playing before Wilcox.

Also, if all of Rondo, Terry, Lee, and Bradley are healthy and playing well, one of them will likely become trade bait for some Center depth.  And yes, I do not put it out of the realm of possibility that Ainge would trade Rondo assuming Bradley is playing well, Terry is healthy, and of course most of all, we get something really good in return.

For what? Last season was the only season to get good value from RR... now he is too good to be traded b/c the players you would send him out for are locked up or in good situations to get locked up (Williams, CP3, and Howard). There is not one person available or soon to be that you/Danny should give up RR for... heck, there isn't 2 good players left to package to get him (like two good but not great players)! At this point, it's stupid to trade RR for anything that's available (matter of fact, I wouldn't trade him for Howard if fakers would... and trust me, I have had problems with RR but still wouldn't)!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I wouldn't trade Rondo ever.  But.... I would let a few good Celtics go to get Kevin Love.  Anything to ONCE again keep #$$##))#($(**$))$ Lakers from stealing him.

I would hope that Danny isn't going to trade one of the best players in the league for center depth. Frankly, I think trying to win a title is a better idea.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Personally, I'm not sold on Bradley quite yet. I know he can put the clamps on point-guards, but I don't know about true scoring 2guards. IMO, Bradley's success will depend on his ability to play the 2guard alongside Rondo regardless of the match up. If he can't be counted on to do that full time I think he's trade bait.
