why are we even debating this Lakers 'rape' teams in trades. In fact I think half the owners are Laker fans so they just gift the Lakers sweet deals.

The Joe Barry deal was not lopsided because Red still had to go make that pick at #3 and you really should go and check Carrol's stats as a Rookie. The argument can be made that if you put Carroll on the Celtics with Bird he would have had a Parish/Mchale type career.

Now contrast that with the multiple championship producing Laker deals.

Ar you kidding me Lakers get the first three lopsided trades ever.

1. Kobe Bryant for Vlade Divac

Kobe basically forced Charlotte to trade him.

2. Paul Gasol for nothing I can remember

Marc Gasol's not nothing. Not the best trade, but at least Memphis got SOMETHING.

Yeah talk of that trade as a fleecing is overblown.  Marc Gasol is a good player I'm a big fan of his.

It gets talked about quite a bit and I think M. Gasol has turned into quite the player; however, he was considered a marginal prospect, at best. At the time, it was a ridiculous trade and the only thing that made it sound okay was the fact that his name was also Gasol.

Ahem trading the (soon to be) Clippers franchise for the Celtics - plus Tiny Archibald was a pretty good deal for John Y. Brown.

Most of our trades were steals since we are talking about the thefts the Lakers get almost once a decade.

Well, technically Cleveland traded James away, in a S & T, for a garbage package of late draft picks and a trade exception that I don't believe they ever used.

From what I have read, Charlotte agreed to trade the pick the day before the draft.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Well, Gerald Henderson (11 ppg scorer) for the 2nd pick, Len Bias ):, was a masterful trade done by Red.
I like Marcus Smart
