If I were the bulls id be more worried about the fact that I just spent 100 million bucks on a kid that relies on speed and jumping ability who has just completely ruined his knee. Take all the season to get him right if you need and be as sure as you can be that history doesn't repeat itself.

He will still be a shadow of his former self athletically.

I have to agree. I've been saying the same about Rose after his injury. I don't see how he can be the same especially the way he plays. I don't see how his body will allow to play such away. But if Rose is likely out until March, then he's likely done for the entire 2013 season. Why play him with a month to go in the regular season.

I think the Bulls will still be dangerous when the playoffs start.  This is a team that won Game 5 and almost won Game 6 without Rose or Noah against a Sixers team that took the Celtics to 7 games.

They are well coached, and by the 1st round, Rose will have had 2 months to get in shape.  This is still not a team to be overlooked.

Also I think people are overestimating how big their bench players were that left this offseason.  Brewer was awful, and Heinrich should more than replace Watson.

Honestly, they should tank the season and get a high draft pick to pair with Rose. Management is suddenly closing their checkbooks, might be the best way for them to get another significant piece.

Seriously, head over to the Bulls' SBNation site, Blog A Bull, I really feel for their fans. Those guys/gals are miserable over there and its not just about Rose's injury. Makes me happy we have Wyc as the head of our ownership group and Danny as GM.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Isn't the draft supposed to suck?

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
This is a tank year for them.
They'll develop Teague and then try and move him+Boozer next year. I bet they're kicking themselves that the Lakers got Nash, because I think they'd target Gasol with Teague+Boozer or Noah next year to get Gasol.

They're tanking. They let Korver walk and have got scrubs on their squad for the upcoming season. Bellinelli? Nazr Mohamed? El oh el.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I really do feel bad for Bulls and their fans. The problem here is that Rose has to carry weight of that team and city on his back with little help sometimes. They need a strong number 2 there and Boozer simply isn't the answer. He needs to get amnestied and the Bulls' front office needs to work from there.
Signed to a 6 year $0 contract with the Celtics Blog forum!

also, their management is kind of cheap. for a contender, they havent gone into the Luxury AT ALL...thats why the owner is decimating their bench. he cant get rid of boozer, so he gets rid of the rest.

why they havent gone after OJ mayo I dont get...he would be perfect for them Rose/Mayo/Deng/Gibson/Noah would be a scary team.....instead theyd rather rely on an old/injury prone Rip Hamilton and hinrich, and Carlos boozer

Next year is a write-off for Chicago.

Not good enough to contend. Not bad enough to win a high lottery pick.

They will still be one of the better teams in the East.  The lottery won't be close.  Their defense and rebounding will carry them.

You're totally right about them not contending though.  No chance.

Yeah not Looking good for chi town
