How Do You Feel About Ray Allen Signing with Miami?

He's a bitter traitor/sellout, taking the easy way to another ring.

As a veteran in the twilight of his career, he deserves to play where ever he wants. I have no ill will for him.

Every one of us need a few days to get past all this anger and depression. I couldn't help being mad about Ray Allen leaving us for the Heat. Also feeling sad that we won't have his deadly shooting on our team. Still we need to move on and wish him the best of luck. Can't be bitter about what we can't control it's beyond our hands. He made his decision and we need to get over it.

BC1996,

Ray Allen might work harder than anyone on offense.  He simply does NOT do that on defense!!  We ALL (even the Ray worshipers) know that be nothing but the truth!!

I have every right to be bitter about this despite my ability to control Ray and his horrendous decision.  I will be bitter until he is out of the league.

I will cheer for his demise (failure on the basketball court) at EVERY opportunity and I will gladly enjoy and embrace my bitterness:-)))

heres the thing, there is soo much animosity towards this move not really because Ray allen left, but the circumstances surrounding it and who he went to join.

90% of the time when a player leaves a city/town its because they are stuck in mediocrity and want a chance at a ring...this isnt like Nash/ray bourque

ray allen has a nba title, and is coming from a team that just got the game 7 of the Eastern Conferance finals and is reloading for another run at it.

if Ray had gone to someone like the Clippers I DOUBT there would be this much animosity towards the move. they wouldve offered comparable money, a staring job and more playing time

Ray allen couldve let Doc/Ainge know he didnt want to return to boston so they could move on and start looking at other options out there

instead, Ray allen having no intent to return to boston...strung along Doc/Management into thinking he could return.

made rediculous demands like 3years/27million$ and then went and signed with Miami for 3years/9million$ its a slap in the face to the celtics.

we know that Ray allen HATED coming off the bench for the Celtics and thought doc disrespected him for doing it...yet, for Miami he is ok with coming off the bench for wade and playing even a lesser role...just another slap in the face

Boston fans are a loyal bunch, Ray had he stayed likely wouldve had his number retired...instead he spat in the fans faces and decided to sell out to ride Bron/wades coat-tails down in miami for an easier chance at a ring

i lost ALOT of respect for ray with the way he's handeled this whole situation

Truth is simple IMHO, what do you think how would chucker like carmelo play in this type of celtic system? I think he d be worse than charlie sheens habbits. I think we saw over last few years the team as a whole moving to more modern up to speed run (but without the gun) type of game while still retaining strongest defence in the league.

All of those things are not Rays forte and once he come to that conclusion (unproven sophmore fitting better than him)it was over with ray and C's. Sadly.

Next was the place where his best qualities could come out, and out of all the interested teams cHeat style wil fit him best.

Torn between legacy and proving that he is still a top player and not 7th option on a team that doesn't fit him, and has continued to play him trough his struggles only cause Doc is stubborn as hell with his rotations he choose his Pride (not ego but pride as a player) and I can't blame him for that even if it is the team that almost made him cry on presser just few months back.

In the end I think C's are better of without distractions on Sg spot, AB wil now have his chance with former 6th man of the year coming of the bench, and Ray with have a picnic day being 3rd option (before Bosh) on Heat team that is built to suit sharpshoters with half of his talent.

My take on traitor or not, is not, simply cause it was obvious that enough reasons for him to go were there, and unlike others I really don't hate on other teams, I couldn't care less where you play if its not celtics green, same goes for MIA, La or w/e.
