We all saw this.. If fans across the country stayed up for the whole game they saw it too, and im sure so did alot of players across the league. (including Jason terry)

In response to this chant, Ray Allen said,

Quote
“Kevin was sitting next to me, and I said these are ‑‑ I know I’m biased, but they’re the best fans I’ve ever played in front of or ever seen in my life. They understand the situation that is before us, and we understand it. And that was basically them sending us off, letting us know, hey, this is still well and alive. We need you guys to go down there and get a win for us. We all felt it on the bench.

“I know the game was going on. It seemed like that three minutes lasted forever. It was special. I’ll talk about that forever, just knowing being down 20 and these people are still standing up, cheering us on, because they know we just have to win one game.”

Now whenever we talk about the celtics signing big free agents we hear various reasons about why guys want to go elsewhere and occasionally as well how the city still has racial issues.  But if after watching this happen, a free agent, still doesnt want to come play in this building I think they have to be crazy.

I think Jason Terry realized what the city and this organization are about, and thats winning championships.  Not endorsement deals and partying with the stars.  You sign here in Boston if you want to win games and play infront of the most diehard fans in the league.

All I can say is that Ray had better rememeber what he said that night and what he will be giving up if he does decide to leave for LA or Miami.

Sounds good but in reality i think we just offered terry the best contract so hes coming here lol. We are celtics fans so it hit us harder than it hit the average joe.

Jet could have waited it out a little longer to try to get a sweeter deal.  He wanted to be a Celtic.

I agree, listening to all of his quotes, he wanted to come here not just for the money.

I think to KG it meant a lot because he feels our passion. Ray on the other hand not so much. The problem with Ray is he has his panties in a bunch because he was offered in a trade. I don't see Pierce crying and he has been a long time Celtic. And it can't be a business thing with Ray because the Celtics are offering more money.

I'm a little down on Ray but you are way too harsh.  He has given us a lot over these years, played in pain all through the last playoffs, and for all you know he is going to sign with us again.

Now, I don't think it means much. But it had the potential to be one of the great celtic moments if they had won.

what does it mean?  It means the C's have the best and classiest fans in the NBA.  Period.

I'm not denying that he wants to come here for other reasons than money. However, if another contender offers him a better contract i say he goes there instead.

I think this is somewhat true but if that's how you look at it the moment is kind of hollow.

To me it was we think you still have this, yes, but also we appreciate you and love you guys.  I am still more proud of that team, in losing, than I have been of any sports team ever.  Just total warriors.

It was def cool, gave me chills, and I won't ever forget it. I'm just saying if Boston had atleast gotten to the Finals/Win it all, that would of been a legendary moment. Sports writers would be talking about how the chant led the charge for the veteran Celtics to go down to Miami and beat the favored HEAT team.

Yeah you're not wrong at all.  Still one of my favorite sports moments ever personally.
