I see virtually no likelihood that this guy will ever make it through most of an nba season

They used to say that about Grant Hill.

Sometimes, it just take a new location with new Doctor's and trainers to get a guy on the right program.

His size and raw talent makes it's a worth chance for a team.  It depends on the contract.

I know, but I consider Grant a miracle and he had many healthy seasons before he got hurt. This guy has never had a healthy season when he should have been his healthiest. Also Grant looks and always looked healthy. Oden looks....off

Oden is not a chance at this point.   You know he is going to get hurt.  Oden = this:

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Rumors continue to swirl that Greg Oden has taken up residence outside Danny Ainge's house, and in a hoarse, deep voice just continues to sing ABBA's hit song, "Take A Chance on Me" without stopping to sleep or eat.

Wait, this is important for my mental picture. Is he wearing Anna-Frid or Agnetha's wig?
Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

I'm not sure ABBA will license you to stalk someone while singing 'Take A Chance On Me' without wearing the wig. I think it all comes as part of a mail order kit, iirc.

Greg Oden will be a decent NBA center for at least a couple of seasons for some team.  I have a feeling he's going to sign with home state Pacers and slowly work his way into real NBA minutes next season behind Hibbert.

Totally agree. It depends on the physical and the contract.

And there is precedent. Red worked Bill Walton through the process and we got exactly what I'd imagine you'd get out of Oden: a couple of good years before the injury bug returns.

No question I'd kick the tires on Greg Oden.
