Let's not be disingenuous here.

There have been no shortage of posts on this board talking about the Bulls series - like this one was over.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Well, let me speak for myself, then. Here's what I posted:

We need to get four wins against Atlanta first.

Been reading some arrogant posts all week.  Consider this first half a reality check if you assumed this would be a cake walk.  Given that the hawks have HCA, there is no reason they shouldn't be favored in the series.

When did anyone ever say Atlanta was going to be easy?

I think there was every reason to be confident in the Celts chances to win this series.  And  I still do.

Heck I still think they can win this game.

A lot of people said that Atlanta had no shot. People say all sorts of things. That is why it is risky to ask "when did anyone ever say...".

i think we'll probably get it together.  The Hawks owned us at home even back in 08 when were at our peak.

I'm interested to see how the perception of Josh Smith changes here during the course of this series.  Some people here seem to think he's a garbage player.  There was a thread on here that said "Jeff Green is better than Josh Smith".  Pretty hilarious.

I will say again... if we lose this series or Ray never comes back... we're going to look like total idiots for not trading Ray when we had a chance.

We'll probably get it together, though.  Pierce isn't going to shoot 5-19 in every game.  No worries.

So why didn't you post this during the week, instead of in the middle of a game (where the Hawks are in the lead)? Would we have seen this thread if the Celts were up 20 by now? I don't think so. Also, I wouldn't call it arrogance, I'd call it confidence. There's a huge difference.

PS. Celts will win Game 1. It may be ugly, but we'll win.

lol

Whats the "lol" for?

Josh Smith is an all-star. Jeff Green is a possible starter. The people who making those comparisons simply don't like Smith or have their green shades on.

We won't look like idiots for not trading Ray because Ray got hurt and that's hard to predict. We'd be unlucky, just like the Blazers in drafting Oden.

There's been some arrogance but I saw a lot tonight that makes me think we will win this series. Josh Smith can't do that every night. It's like every time we play the Hawks in the playoffs. It's going to be a war, and it'll likely go to 7. But I'd put my money on Joe Johnson and Josh Smith folding before anyone on the Celts.

True, just like there are no shortage of I told you sort of threads whenever the C's get down after one quarter.

We played poorly and Atlanta played well. The fans don't score points, defend, box out, and rebound. We volunteered our time to watch and got disappointed big time tonight.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

This means nothing.  There is no reason atl can't win game two either.  And nevermind the score.  Atl dominated this game.

Ha never mind the score? SO if a team "dominates" and has less points do they get the win?

Hawks hit a bunch of ridiculous shots and had some very luck bounces to build that big lead, then things evened out and the celts got it down to two possessions. The score accurately reflected the difference in the teams tonight.

This game changes nothing I thought going in (besides rondo possibly being suspended for a game) if Rondo is a go in game 2 I still think the celtics win in 6. If they do not it will be bc we can't finish off big defensive series by actually getting the rebound.

They came to play we did not.  They won, they were hot, they have to win three more games, we have to win four before they do that.

Been posting this all week but of course, no one was having it.  And yeah, if I'm betting money, it would be on the hawks.

Its not just the fans but the media as well. Everyone is picking us to win I don't see what's so out of the ordinary. I guess picking them to sweep or win in 5 may be a little over confident but don't see what the fuss is about.

Who did Vegas have before tonight ?

What does the supposed "arrogance" of fans have to do with anything?

Please don't tell me you actually think someone posting here "the Celtics will sweep the Hawks" has any influence on the game.

As if  ::)

With Rondo likely suspended for game 2, I don't think any C's fan should be arrogant about that game. Although it wouldn't surprise me if the rest of the C's picked it up and got a 'W' anyways.
