(Pick-A-Player Total Bases Game)





Looking for something to help pass the time during the off-season? It's that time of year ... baseball season! The cheering crowds, the crack of the bat, the smell of the fresh-cut grass, the breeze blowing in from the outfield, the yell of the hot dog vendor, the organ playing cheer songs ... it's the Great American Pastime, and it's here again!

But thanks to CelticsBlog and the creative ideas of one of it's own, (Redz), this time of year holds even more excitement in store! The NBA and PAPOUG may be over for now, and the CB and "Create Your Own Pub" Draft ending, but PAPTBG, ("Pick-A-Player-Total-Bases-Game"), is still going strong, and there's oodles of TPs to be had for all!

You don't even have to be a big fan of baseball to have fun with this game, just use the links available at the bottom of the Daily Results Page, (on the PAPTBG thread), find a player in a game for that day with a good average, and post your pick ... that's all there is to it, (and we're glad to help you get started if you need a little nudge in the right direction - just PM one of us!).

It's a long season, so there's plenty of time to score some decent points, and with enough players we'll be having playoffs this year, so you don't need to be in first place to end up winning it all! It really is a lot of fun if you give it a chance, and a great way to stay connected to CelticsBlog on a daily basis during the NBA off-season and lockout.

It's also a great way to interact with others from the CB community in a fun but competitive way. Play whenever you like, as often as you wish ... averages will be a deciding factor in seeding, so accumulating a ton of points isn't necessarily the only path to the post-season.

You'll get some TPs from me just for joining, and more every time you win, though you'll have so much fun once you get going that the excitement alone will keep you coming back. We hope you'll consider joining us if you're new, and if you've played before, please come back ... the playoffs this season will make it even more worthwhile!

I know some people may feel obligated to play every day, so if they can't, they don't play at all. But as in PAPOUG, the amount of points accumulated has little bearing on the playoffs, so even if you can't play every day, you can still have a good shot at the title, and some extra fun here-and-there.

We'd love to see some new faces, and would love to see some "veterans" return ... the more people that play, the more fun it is for everyone, so you'll be doing us a favor as well as adding a little "fun-shine" to your day. So hop onboard the PAPTBG wagon and PM one of us if you need a little help getting started ... it's really quite easy, and you'll be glad you did!
