I would rather have Pietrus and his contract then Ariza and his deal. Ariza cant shoot well enough to have a future playing with Rondo. I say pass.

Either option would be a perfect match... Ariza rebounds and a very high rate for his position, and Jack is an upgrade over dooling.

I like Ariza on the 2nd unit, but I'm fearful about Jack simply because of his foot/knee injury which has kept him out of plenty of games this season. I have a feeling Hornets are just showcasing him right now, a team will trade for him, he'll pass the physical, and then get injured again.

I had more or less forgotten about Jarrett Jack, but remember liking him when he came out of college.

He has played well and is on a nice reasonable contract.

If the Cs were in the market for a Guard, I'd be all over this.  But the Cs biggest need is big man. Other than providing a potential "asset" that will be useful to the Cs in trades next year, I don't really see how Jack helps the Cs that much right now.

And I see no reason to trade for Ariza.

It was reported yesterday on NBA the beat, they had a New Orleans beat writer on talking about Kaman when he later brought up the Ariza or Jack for a 1st is the more likely move.

JO and Bradley (with lesser of first rounders and dooling) for Ariza AND Jack?

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=82eq8ea

It would really add punch to 2nd team, but losing JO hurts us at center.

Rondo
Ray
Pierce
KG
Wilcox
-------
Jack
Pietrus
Ariza
Bass
?????

Rondo

Pierce
Bass
KG   looks like the starting lineup for the immediate future

No one is counting on JO anymore

a bench of

Jack
Pietrus
Ariza
JJJ
Wilcox

is both athletic and veteran enough to make up for JJJ's rookieness

I'd trade em Dooling & a "small" lunch size bag of Dorito's for either one.

ainge will not take on mediocre talent on long term contracts. he has timed the current roster's contracts to end at pretty much the same time.

nothing hinders a rebuild like having to pay large salaries to mediocre players. it dooms you for year after year.

basically, ainge will pass on these guys, and others, unless they are 1 year contracts.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
