Rondo's Shooting (please help me!)

This is the stat I use every time and there is no arguement against it.

from 16-23 feet:
Rondo is shooting 41%
Chris Paul 44%
Russell Westbrook 42%
Deron Williams 42%

Rondo is shooting around the same % as all these guys who are considered good shooters. Rondo doesnt shoot enough 3's for those to be considered, so you look at mid-range jumpers, which he shoots about 3 times a game.

Rondo shoots 40% from 10-23 feet - in 102 shots so far this season.

Wade shoots 42% from the same range - in 197 shots so far this season.

I would guess 95% of Wade's attempts were guarded/challenged.  The other 5% he was open because of a defensive lapse.

Convesley, 95% of Rondo's trys were unguarded.  The other 5% were mental lapses from the other team/coach forgetting it was Rondo.  We're supposed to give him 10 feet and beg him to shoot and not discourage it.

good guesses....way to not rely on any kind of data what so ever and create a imagined number that works in favor of your arguement.

I love Rondo, but your friends are right. He's definitely becoming a better shooter off the dribble but he's still the worst shooting PG in the league.

The important thing is that he has solid shot selection. He takes shots he can make and has become fairly consistent of hitting shots off the dribble (usually elbow jumpers) when he's dared to shoot.

He struggles as a catch and shoot guy late in games. And he's a bad FT shooter.

Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook are not good shooters.  They just like to shoot the ball.
