Trading for 3/5 of the starting lineup of a 12-17 team sounds like a really great idea....not.
We are 15-16 and they are in the tougher conference. They have played 16 games against teams over .500 and won 6. We have played 14(2 against the Rose-less Bulls) and have won 5 and 4 if you take away one of the Bulls games without Rose.
Personally, I like the trade and I think GS says no. We get a instant scorer, and upgrade rebounding a low post scoring. We trade cap space? Who are we gonna sign in the next 2 years? We will end up over paying someone like Nicholas Batum. Biedrenis and Ellis expire in 2 years. What big name is coming here within 2 years via free agency? We aren't exactly big market and Rondo isn't enough of a star to attract big names.
And if we tank it's better than years of mediocracy IMO.
