I won't complain if we get Austin; I'd love a Rivers legacy thing going on.

Still, it makes me wary, the idea of the head coach and a potentially key player being father/son. It will be fine most of the time, but what about when Austin's shot isn't falling? We all know Kobe, for example, won't take constructive criticism even when he has a bad game, will Austin have that sort of ego?

Anyone who says that it won't effect the way Doc criticizes/coaches Austin is straight up lying. Of course it will effect it. It's human nature. The question is really about how mature Austin is, and how he will handle the situation, and how honest Doc will be. There's no way for us to know what will happen.

So put this up in the high risk/high reward category. It can pay off huge dividends, but it could also turn the team into a basket case. Don't pretend that it isn't possible for this to back-fire.
