Boston Receives:

George
Hansbrough
Mayo

Indiana Receives:

Pierce
Speights

Memphis Receives:

R. Allen

C's get younger and save tons of cap room.

Indiana get the go to scorer they lack and receive Speights to replace Hansbrough.

Memphis has long tried to trade Mayo and Allen could help them get over the hump in the playoffs. They would also have to include a couple of picks in the trade, probably to both teams.

Why would the Pacers pay $30M for two SFs? That's what they'd be doing if they made this deal.

Memphis just got Speights to fill a need. They don't do it either.

I think people get too caught up with specific positions. It becomes an issue of having 2 "sf's" if neither could defend the position. Surely you'll agree that Granger could defend 2s. This would also create some matchup problems on the other end when some smaller 2s will be forced to covet Granger.

I really doubt that Speights is the dealbreaker for Memphis in acquiring the shooter they've long coveted to create spacing for Gasol, Gay, & Randolph. Regardless, if they think so highly of Speights they could keep him and we could send Wilcox, who would barely sniff the court, to the Pacers to replace TH. I guess this would mean we would be entitled to further draft pick compensation from the Grizz, so that's a plus.
