We are still only 12 games in.

I would be a little worried but with how freaked out some people get from  play to play  it just makes me metro a clearer head.

How are we even that much different from or team that lost in the finals 2 years ago?

Watch KG go for a rebound and come back here and honestly tell me you think we are going anywhere this year.  He is toast.

I would rather the Lottery than 7-8 spot. Those 2 spots are set aside for pure embarrassment. But the Company and Players cash out here with some more $$.

I'm not confident at all to think the C's as a team will get good enough to win more games than they loose. There is a ton of road games and if these guys can't get wins at home now against good teams , then their old tired bodies are most likey to be worse off with injuries than they are now down the road with more wear and tear..

If you are about winning , then you are about rebuilding this team with some new fresh basketball stars out of college.
Winning just enough games to make the playoffs every year is boring and sucks.  Being second is for losers and for me is not an option.

Good for the team IF they manage to make the playoffs , like to see the big three leave as winners.

IF we don't make the playoffs I won't shed a tear , I think we need the lottery to land potential franchise talent , since the present superstars still young enough to build around don't seem to want to LIVE or PLAY in Boston.

But what deals can the Celtics make with KG or Ray's contract that brings back good young talent without cap baggage?

That's the problem right now with "blowing it up".  The Celtics players are making a lot in the last year of the contracts and there doesn't look like there are good landing places out there that help the Celtics in the future.
Ray Allen to Indiana for a first round pick and a trade exception.  Ray Allen to Indiana for George Hill and a trade exception.  Ray Allen to Indiana for Lance Stephenson, a second round pick, and a trade exception.

Ray Allen to Chicago for Korver, Watson, and a 1st (only takes on Korver's 5 mill next year, which I wouldn't call cap baggage).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal, Victor Wembanyama
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic

I think everyone needs to take a step back and relax. There is still a lot of season left before we have to worry about the lottery.

You have to think in the lockout young players for example Kevin Durant were playing as much as they can, staying in game shape and getting shots up, our older guys would have been just taking a break and resting. I think that it will take 25-30 games for us to have a better idea of what our team actually is. All our losses we have missed tons of layups and close range shots, mostly due to the lack of practice.

Essentially this early part of the season is our training camp and we also have quite a few new players to incorporate.

So let's relax, wait it out, If we can be with .500 at halfway then go like 23-10 in the second half and end up with a 5 or 6 seed we should be good. All I want to do is avoid the heat or bulls in the first round.

Also, we have the 2 first rounders in the draft (ours and LA's) which will be in the 15-20 range anyway so we can either keep both of them or maybe even trade them to a lottery team and move up.

Ainge is gonna give the team some time anyway, the rest is fan talk.

However, do you think they can turn it around, find a rythm and go for a championship?

When you look at the roster (thin and injury-prone), at the schedule (brutal) and at the top teams (much better than the Celtics), I just can't see any hope of the C's winning a ring this year.

They are gonna improve, that's for sure (as long as they are not hit by a major injury, and that's a big IF). But they don't have what it takes to win it all anymore.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm pretty relaxed. I don't expect them to win this year, so I won't be disappointed. It's just about not wasting 1 year for nothing.

The ppl who need to step back and take a new look at the current situation are optimistic fans like you. This team is done. They will struggle to hit the 0.500 ratio, they won't go 23-10 at the end of the season, they will probably suffer some injuries at some point and (again) they will never win a championship this year.

Might as well tank and go for the lotery pick + the Clippers pick rather than settling for a weak PO run and a 15th/20th pick + Clippers pick (or 1 higher pick acquired by trading those 2 picks they have).

Rethinking this whole thing...you know, our chances this year...

It's a big man's game (sorry, little fellas), and if we're going to succeed, we've got to count on:

1) JO being healthy and serviceable (incredibly unlikely) for much of the season AND playoffs.  He needs to be 100% these days to be effective.

2) KG playing minutes at the 5.  It hasn't looked good.  Too thin/not bulky enough to bang down low (sorry, Kev).

3) Solid scoring and perhaps nearly 30 minutes/gm from an undersized PF in Bass.  Undersized journeyman PF's tend to be easily neutralized by better teams.

4) The other bigs are Wilcox, a PF, and Steims, just in from the D-league.

If we bank on JO missing some time or playing hurt/less than 100%, we're pretty short on bangers.  Actually, we don't have any...probably going to kill us against teams that are solid up front.

We need some meat in the middle.  Too bad Sheed's all fat...

IMO, a team needs a solid front line to truly make noise in the playoffs.  We don't have one.  I was hoping/dreaming of a 1969esque season where anything can happen in the second season, but without another C, forget it.

IF Danny can't bring in a solid pivot man, I'd say let's get JJJ some run and hope for some nice Sportscenter clips to enjoy while contemplating talent in the draft.

And it pains me to think that way.

With regard to the seeding, I don't know if anybody's noticed, but we're already 5.5 games behind Phillie for the division lead.

Honestly, it all depends on how they are playing.  If they turn things around, guys start getting their legs, and the chemistry starts clicking, then I would absolutely prefer the 7 or 8th seed over a late lottery pick (I think the mid to high lottery is not going to happen).

This team still has the talent to make some noise in the playoffs, but they need to get their act together.  I am not that confident that they will get their act together, but if they do, then I will absolutely take the playoff run.

Even if they don't have the legs to win the championship, I think they could at least steal a round or two, and you never know what can happen if they get hot.

Would not be surprised at all at this point if we tanked the season.  I wouldn't even be that mad. Lets get the youth out there and have fun.
