Look - I'm only posting the 1st clip here, but here is game 7 of NBA Finals 2010. I've been looking for this for a while.
I'm sure we all know the final outcome but Man! Look at Sheed go to work here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RnuEpdcRd0&feature=BFa&list=ULtefI3iqx5BQ&lf=mfu_in_orderI know...this was almost two yrs ago...Sheed was 35 then (he's now 37)...but look at that defense on the first two possessions vs Bynum...Drew didn't score with Sheed on him until his 3rd possession. Sheed shut him down twice in a row.
Add in one of Sheed's blocks vs Gasol in the first qtr, too.
Offense? GuaranSheed. Look at Postmaster Sheed work on Gasol on those first two attempts...I haven't seen postwork like that in a while, to be honest. And this was from a 35 yr old man who didn't turn it on until the playoffs.
Sheed didn't exert a lot of energy, either...he was always known as a very intelligent player, and I'm sure that this would help him, too.
If he is serious about his conditioning and coming back, I find it hard to believe that he would've lost too much. After all, wasn't PJ Brown 38 when he helped us in 07-08?
Sadly, you can already see the rebound deficiencies starting to add up, even in the 1st qtr. KG looked a bit flat already.
I know that a lot of things are up in the air, and neither LA or us are guaranteed to even make the playoffs, but I'd love Sheed to come back here if he's conditioned.
Whether he starts or not him, a healthier KG, Sheed, JO, and Wilcox and Bass (and hopefully Stiem), gives us just enough Bigs to get this done.
