I just don't think he'll end up being better than David West.
His mid range shot was sweet though. I don't watch much David West but Brandon Bass seems to put in a lot of work and that goes a long way with his athleticism. (Sad that a lot of physically gifted players just don't work to improve.)
What David West has that Bass doesn't is excellent ball-handling ability. West can execute nifty dribble drives from the 3-point line, to get all the way to the rim or pull-up for mid-range jumpers.
Bass has the J, finishing ability inside and enough of a handle to make basic straight-line dribble drives from 15 feet out, but he can't complete the same range of offensive plays that West can.
That said, in this system, playing so many minutes alongside play-makers like Rondo and Pierce, Bass can be nearly as prolific and efficient as West. Just gives us a few less options offensively.
