Big men take longer time to develop.

Neither Cole nor Brooks would have seen minutes last night as dooling and Rondo would have eaten their minutes. But y'know, the sky is falling.

Not winning the tittle has nothing to do with Cole and Brooks "being better" than Johnson..

Are we contenders, I don't think so but you never know what can happen. Lets face it we're two games in. Everyone just take a breathe and see what happens.

TP. That's what we need to hear.. glad im not alone!
Doc's gonna tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.

Yeah iknow, my username is Kendrick Perkins and my ranking is Jeff Green. Ironic huh?

But just because they are playing doesn't make them better. If you have literally nothing to go by about how JJ will play in the NBA how can we say two players are better?

Yeah, duh they are playing better but are they better, nobody knows that yet.

OK, listen closely: Actually getting time on the floor means you are playing better. Because you actually get to play. You have to play to be a player.

Or it means that you're playing behind weaker starters. Would you think it's easier to get playing time when you're playing behind Rondo or Chalmers? Because, regardless of how good you are, I'm thinking Rondo's backup won't see as much playing time. It also makes a difference whether you're trying to win games against top opponents or if you're on a team that's getting blown out a lot or developing youth.

Orien Green, as a rookie, played more minutes than David Lee, Monta Ellis, Hakeem Warrick and Chuck Hayes. Gerald Green, in that same year, played more minutes than a host of players, including Bynum (injured, no doubt), Bass, CJ Miles, Turiaf, Maxiell, Blatche, Lou Williams, Wil Bynum and Amir Johnson.
TP for mentioning Greene.

Johnson sucks and every1 knows it. "Well, big men take time to develop" some would say. But guess what? Time is money and money is winning. I don't care if Johnson needs more time then guards IMO. Johnson can't ball at NBA standards and we should trade him and Avery "Garbage" Bradley for young pros and/or 1st round picks. Period.
Jameer an elite PG?Please, ask that to his garbage highlights.

I feel like this just needs to be repeated until people get the message: Avery Bradley is not going to net us a 1st round pick.

As for Johnson, I must have missed the memo about him sucking. Here I thought he was a thin rookie playing a position that 2 of our best 6 players happen to also play.

How can you start the thread with "one game" and then continue to argue that this is the case?  That's like arguing that an eclipse is going to be a daily occurrence because it happens once.

You may end up being right, but it's way too early to tell.  Keep in mind that Kedrick Brown had some good games too and Jermaine O'Neal took 5 years to develop.

So then by that standard Al Jefferson sucks.  He barely got no PT in his frst year and when he did he wasnt effective.  Same about Kendrick Perkins.

Johnson was drafted to be a solution this year

  • You say when......
Oh [dang]. We lost out on two guys who had good shooting nights tonight. I demand Ainge's head.

Also, I'll be waiting to bump this thread when the Celtics are using their bench a lot on the second game of back to backs... Like tomorrow against a significantly worse opponent.

It is funny though, the MIAMI coach has no problem playing a rookie vs an elite team....when you show confidence in your players, you'll get their best..where do tomorrows stars come from...today's rookies....either the celts scouting sucks, and all their rookies are worthless, OR they have no guts and cannot support or play rookies. Doc has been that way forever, but it is not a credit to him.

Kind of can't wait till tomorrow. Rondo to JJJ for the finish and maybe the Purdue connection.

To the guy who made this thread, Doc doesn't like playing the bench (unfortunately) especially against 2 elite-ish teams.

If Chauncey Billups was available to play in that 4th quarter do you think Cole would have been in there to hit those shots??  Or would he have sniffed the floor at all?  He'd be behind both Billups and Chalmers at that point.  Welcome to JaJuan Johnsons situation.

If you wanna throw Moore name out there for being out there on the floor, then hey maybe you have some good points, I just dont understand why everyones throwing Johnson under the bus when the majority of people here havent seen him play.

The sucky thing is we all will probably miss the game where Cole makes rookie mistakes to let a team back into a game against Miami, or even lose it for them, bc it'll probably be against someone else.  The shoe does go on the other foot.

Miami's only other option for the rookie they played is Mario Chalmers. Boston has KG and Brandon Bass in front of theirs, and he is more of a project due to his size. Do you see at least any sort of discernible difference here?

Further, Norris Cole had 7 points on 37.5% shooting and 4 TO with 0 assists in his other game this year. Clearly he is a superstar.

Also, Jesus you make yourself hard to quote.
