If we learned something from Shaq and KG's injury earlier this year, don't believe whatever Doctor Danny Ainge says!

LOL, came in here just to post this. You cannot trust Danny when it comes to injuries. I don't understand why he does it. Just be honest with us.

The thing is, more often than not Danny is the one who is more tentative about giving dates for guys to return.  It is Doc who does more of the talking.

In Doc's defense, he always adds his "I'm not a real doctor" disclaimer to his estimates.

Haha, yup.  Just like Danny always adds his "as of this moment", and "my best guess", when he makes statements like this.

The thing is, when you hear the stuff in context, Doc and Danny are always very good at couching the statement, and making it clear that they are really not sure of the time-table.  However, in a sound-bite or quote, those things are always lost, because hard time-tables are what make good stories.

I get very frustrated as a fan when the Celtics staff underestimates return dates from injuries but there are people who are much more angry...vegas handicappers...

if you look online about a heel injury, day to day probably would be the most accurate description. theres no telling how long it can take to heal..but the common consensus is that only Rest can heal it.

he was at shootout today, and practiced yesterday. apparantly hes getting close. as a fan Id love to see him out there against the heat/knicks..but longterm, winning those games statistically isnt any different than winning against the Hornets or pistons..so, its best to get pierce healthy

Doc Rivers announced that Pierce will be out for the Miami and New Orleans games. Will "maybe" play in the home opener of Friday against the Pistons, and he stressed that Pierce is "improving".
