weve still got the mmle to use so I would expect the C's to target a center like Kwame brown....maybe even Dalembert who doesnt look like hes gotten offered any deals yet..

maybe Rasheed comes out of retirement ::).

jk, we really need a center especially if we trade JO + someone for West...then we will overload on the PF spot

Thinking about it.  How many Centers are out there that KG or D-west can't defend effectively?  probably 5-6?  I think in most games what KG and West can bring to the offensive end will outweigh what they give up on the defensive end.
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

not to mention the league's talents for centers are slowly dropping

everyone is all about small forwards and point guards now

I think KG at center is a bit of a joke.  He's old and he doesn't like to play center.  Just because there are some teams without a good center, doesn't mean we don't need one.

Don't make too much out of positions. Doc really only sees two positions: "bigs" and guards.

As to who defends opposing centers, well, it doesn't matter all that much because there are only a handful of"true" centers left that would be too big for KG. But I think you can expect KG to be on the floor with a banger like Wilcox or Bass most of the time (who can both guard centers).

I think this move is directly related to playing Miami. Heat's best lineup is Bosh and Haslem down low. KG and West match that.

I wouldn't be surprised to see wilcox starting.guy seems tough and looks like he's got the raw skills to improve.
i'm kinda excited about that d-league block machine...

Wilcox is _not_ starting over West. If nothing else, they're pretty much the same size.

All the big guys rotate and play less minutes thereby helping them get through back to backs

We basically have an onslaught of power forwards that can play center. KG, Wilcox, West, Johnson, Bass - holy moly. KG is going to get all the rest he needs for the playoffs.

I'm sure the plan is to spend the MMLE on a guy like Kwame and bring in another vet min center and technically go with Brown, vet min and Wilcox at the 5.

If he pulls this off, then Jeff Green will never, hopefully, have to play the 4 ever again. He can just keep Pierce really, really, really rested.

The rest is the best part about it; finally we have a quality PF so that KG can be fresh for the playoffs. Especially in a short, compacted season like this, he can pull a Popovich and give KG some games off. Pull and keep KG's minutes down to 28-30 range. Give KG the middle game off of the back-to-back-to-back set we have late in the season.  ;D

If CP3 and DH wanted to come to Boston, I would prefer to wait for them and sacrifice signing David West but it seems like these top-tier Free Agents prefer South Beach, Big Apple (NY + NJ) and Hollywood first almost always. Looks like Danny will have to trade his way to DH and/or CP3 and convince them to stay. I'm sure he's smart enough to realize that.
