at this point in their careers?  yes.  KG could not take over a playoff series and will his team to victory the way Dirk Nowitzki did 4 times this summer.

seems like a silly question, though.  has anybody suggested that any NBA people are actually considering or talking about a KG for Dirk swap?  of course not.

Did you see dirk last year? Is this question a joke? It's not even close.

From 2008 and before it was kg hands down.

After the 2009 knee injury it was dirk and has been since.

And hey I love kg. He's my favorite player and my nick name for dirk was dirk no win ski before this past year, but it is what it is now. And I HATE saying that.

Dirk's Finals performance was an aberration. Dirk had been labelled a playoff failure for a number of postseason prior to last year.

The guy played some legendary 4th quarters...great for him. If he hadn't done what he did he would have been the biggest bust of any superstar to have ever played in the Finals.

KG was never really a player that could "take over" with his scoring, he was always a multi-faceted and versatile player.

KG would dominate on the glass and could "take over" on the boards, but he really can't now after the injury. He can still defend and he is still offensively efficient.

Out side of range and FT% I don't see that Dirk has as great of an offensive advantage over KG. KG is also the better passer. KG clearly still has the greater defensive advantage.

I still think, even at this stage, KG is the better overall player.

If you want to pick between the two based upon the 4th quarter, Dirk wins.
