I think Green can be a valuable peice to this team if we can integrate him into the offense right.

lets not forget, he was a starter on the Thunder as a 4...as a bench guy on the celtics he will be playing against alot of backups for other teams....Green is more talented than most guys he will be playing against.

I think Ainge's plan when trading for him is to make him our 6th man(moving away from BBD) as the big 3 are older, they need someone else to consistently provide scoring(especially for the 2nd unit once a lead is built) I think Green can fill that role. he certainly has the potential/talent to do so.

but hes going to have to play more agressively this year looking for his shot

It's really too early to call Green a bust.  It's one thing to not want to give him big money long term, but I'd be very happy to see him back for the QO.  Even if he doesn't get any better talentwise, he could still improve from a "fit" standpoint, which could make this team significantly better.

  • You say when......
Green is def NOT a bust....he has been playing out of pos..he is a better 3..it is as usual with the current Celts..they have aging stars that won't accept a better role for the team, as was evident the past TWO JANUARY's, when everyone who played too much was hurt, and still wouldn't sit out until they were healed.THAT is a coaching / team management failure..but my point is, that is why not a lot of guys will come here, because all the good spots are filled..and as with bbd, even though the coach doesn't like him, he still played a lot, even after he started trying 3's..again, instead of his role, rebounding. Caron Butler is very good...but, damaged goods..bball is not nice to bad knees / ankles...and the Celts overplay guys who produce, instead of gettting everyone time early in the season, to develop....you never know when you are going to need the bench, no matter how far down they are..i am talking early in the season, but NOT this year..!
