The #11 is more than adequate for Lopez, who I think is an underrated player. If they want Udoh AND the #11, they're probably asking for too much - though, this is a weak draft, so that might explain the demand.

Paul Coro (Suns beat writer) is reporting (on twitter)

@RoySevillaHo Lopez for Udoh and #11 was discussed but did not get anywhere. It does show that the Suns are open to trading Lopez.

Thanks, Who.

So, let's turn this into the official "Lopez to Boston trade scenario" thread. He's available. Does Boston want him? How bad, and for what?
I think R.Lopez is probably worth a mid first round pick on the open market. Or a good young prospect who has already established himself as a quality rotation player in the NBA (say a Landry Fields type). Or a high quality veteran role player (Carl Landry type). Something along those lines.

The Celtics have only a low first round pick so they'd have to include an additional asset. Their early second round pick might be enough if there is someone there that the Suns really like. Otherwise, it would have to be an additional (protected) future first round pick or perhaps Avery Bradley if the Suns like him.

Other than that, the C's have nothing to offer.

Lopez does slot into the TE, so #25, plus cash and/or another future pick, might be a possibility.

And Bradley's salary does match as well. So there are scenarios that would work on draft night.

Yes, someone here on CB floated the idea of Lopez for TE + #25 a few weeks back.  I think that is a no brainer of a trade for the Cs, but agree that the pot would need to be sweetened to entice PHO.

Celtics fan for life.

If Robin Lopez is so good, why has he failed to produce at the NBA level?  He seems to measure up quite short compared to his twin brother Brook.  I think the only reason we'd look at Robin Lopez is because this year's draft is so WEAK.

If only we'd have drafted Marc Gasol instead of Gabe freaking Pruitt, and trading away Perkins for a swing foward we wouldn't be in such a bind at the 5.  You can count on JO for about 40 games out of 82 the way he keeps getting injured.  And the cupboard is really bare outside of that.  Kristic is a JAG level center with poor defense.  Is Lopez any better than Kristic?

Does Phoenix have interest in getting Hakim Warrick's money off their books?  They already have a ton of guys who can play SF (although not so many PF).

What about:

Boston trades: JO (expiring), #25
Phoenix trades: Robin Lopez, Hakim Warrick

This would hurt our '12 cap space.  But it would give us a center we can reasonably expect to be healthy and also a backup 3/4.  I could also see Warrick complementing Rondo well in the open floor.

Note:  I'm actually not crazy about this deal, just throwing it out their for discussion since a lot of you seem to like Lopez.

Jon Givony of Draft Express says Lopez may be on the move:

Seems like Robin Lopez's name is being thrown around quite a bit. Don't be surprised to see him moved on draft night.

I've thought that Robin Lopez was an underrated player in this league, but no way is he worth that. The #11 pick should be enough in itself, and even that's probably overpaying.
agreed
I do think he'd be a nice replacement for Perk with current team.  Would welcome him in green.
