I'd rather he start, but he is just demonstrating his willingness once again to do whatever it takes to make the team better.
I'd rather he keep his starting job and just get Von Wafer back next year and acclimated to the rotation once again. He was actually playing quite well last year before he went down with his injury, and even improving on defense, which is the main reason why Doc was getting him the increase in minutes.
I'm sure Ray Allen will maintain his health into next year, and the fact that he was an All-Star just a few months ago means to me that he won't drop off that much, even if he is older.
Just get Von back into the rotation and let Ray keep the starting job. I'm sure he's familiar with the sets, just get him more time. No need to reinvent the wheel, IMO.
