Maybe is age, maybe not but there are just too many bad games in-between good ones for RAllen.  We all know he is not a defensive hawk.  We all know he can’t create his own shot anymore and is horrible on the open floor.  He’ll pick up his option 10Million.  I was wondering

1)can we package for Monta Ellis
2)would GS be interested?

Can we package something for Ellis and make salaries meet? Certainly. The question as you state is whether or not we can package something interesting for both parts.

If Golden State trades Monta Ellis, they do it because they can gain an impact defensive big. They do have the possibility of trading Ellis, while still not losing too much impact in their backcourt. But who would we have, that could fit that description?

They need someone who's athletic and active on defense primarily. Garnett is certainly a defensive presence, but he's not what Golden State is looking for at all, nor someone the Celtics would think of moving. Outside of him, I don't see anyone fitting that description on our roster.

Could Perkins have done it? Possibly - But going down that road is futile, and highly speculative.

I think GS will try to strengthen their core by signing or S&Ting for the likes of Bogut, Dalembert, DeAndre Jordan or possibly put a lot of faith in someone like Ty Thomas, who could probably be acquired for relatively low value at this point.

Golden State aren't looking to move Monta Ellis anymore. The new ownership loves him and considers him the one untradeable player on their roster. Their franchise player. The guy they want to build the roster around.

It would take a heck of an offer to get them to reconsider that.

You could trade Rondo for Ellis, move West to point guard, and bring Ellis off the bench to play 35 minutes a game. But I wouldn't want to pay a bench player what Ellis makes. I also consider Ellis a poor piece to build around in the future. I'm definitely in favor of trading Rondo, but not for Ellis.
