idk....it hurts them from a depth perspective, but Douglas is better than Billups anyway
He's a combo guard though, not someone you want at PG for the majority of your minutes. Its him or Anthony Carter at the position now.

Ugh. Does this mean that D'Antoni will be forced to play Landry Fields more? I was really enjoying him on the bench yesterday while 92 year old Anthony Carter tried chasing Ray Allen around.
I think fields got benched due to his shot selection. I'd imagine that without Billups he's D'Antoni will have to up both Fields/Carter's minutes.

I'd rather the Knicks play Fields, the guy looks to be in over his head right now.

Carter at least has some veteran savy and can score on some points that should never been scored in the first place.

Celtics win Game 2. ESPN: "Celtics are lucky that Billups was out."

You'll see.

not having billups will hurt the knicks big time. he is a legit playmaker that can shoot from outside. douglas is too streaky..

I absolutely do not like this one bit. I think the Knicks are a more dangerous team with Tony Douglas starting over Billups.

I really, really hope Billups plays instead of him. I've watched these teams, man, and they are more dangerous with Douglas running the offense.

Even if Toney Douglas could replace Billups' play (and he can't) ... the Knicks have nobody who can replace Toney Douglas off the bench.

The Knicks already had the weakest supporting cast of any playoff team in the NBA. Losing another valued contributor is a big blow. Having to give more minutes to Anthony Carter or Roger Mason Jr is going to hurt them considerably.

They are in a very bad spot if Chauncey can't go.

And I'll love it. Couldn't care less about what BSPN says.

Billups is a player I've always liked, and is a shame if his injury is severe. But the Celtics didn't have a healthy KG in the last two postseasons. Only Houston and Portland have been knocked by injuries more than us.

Update: " Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni described Billups as probable for Friday's Game 3"

http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/celtics/post/_/id/4683078/billups-unlikely-to-play-in-game-2

That may be just coach-speak so his troops don't get down if they know Billups may be more seriously hurt.

In his post-game press conference, Billups said his knee "just buckled." Injuries that occur just in the course of running with no real contact are often the most problematic and often indicate something more serious.

Hope nothing too bad for Chauncy, he's a class act and good friends with and has been supportive of KG and PP. Maybe just something to keep him on the shelf for a week and a half.  ;)
