this team didn't try to win against chicago or miami, with the latter having the added bonus of home court on the line, why does anyone think they will try against the wizards now that the 3 seed is a virtual lock?

Because this team does things very oddly since the all star break. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if we played one of our best games of the year tonight.

Why? Because it would be meaningless really. We throw up 2 stinkers to elite teams, but pummel the wiz twice in a week.

I have to admit, you have a point there. This team does everything backwards.

Im saying that as light heartily as possible. I love this team, and i was at the game VS the Wiz on Friday ( my first NBA game ever  :) ) and i was shocked how well they played after the bulls the night before. I really thought it was going to carry over until to Miami game since it looked like they were rolling, just how they were rolling in the beginning of the 1st quarter.

It really does start and end with rondo
, in the opening quarter in the wiz game - he got a steal and drove to the hoop hard. In the heat game, i didn't even recognize the rondo that was on the court. Sometimes i wish he would realize that his stats ACTUALLY do go up when he is aggressive - he passed his point average, assist average and steal average when he was aggressive against the Wiz. His laid back, looking for the pass rondo actually hurts his assist ratio. When he's running and its flowing, his points, assists and team chemistry GO UP - Which should be MOST important especially with the playoffs fast approaching.
