I'm glad we won this game even though it was ugly.  I of course would love to see a win against the Pacers tomorrow night, as well.

In addition, I hope that Rondo gets to sit out again.  And, I hope that Delonte bring toughness and solid play and that the offense finally plays a complete game for 48 minutes.

I'm a huge Rondo fan and I think we'll need him playing at his best for us to be a legitimate contender this year.  I think that he will be able to get back to being the player that we've seen for much of the last 3 years before this season is over.  As a fan of the Celtics, for me it doesn't mean that I feel the need to pit players against each other.

I root for Rondo to play like a top 5 point guard in the league like he has for a majority of the season, and for Delonte to be a spark plug of the bench.

Here's hoping we crush the Pacers tomorrow night on a road back-to-back without my favorite player.

Ubuntu!
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Ughhh, when West proves he can be a top notch pg in the NBA for 3+ years, then maybe I will be okay with him starting and being the main pg for this team. But for now, I like him supplementing what Rondo and Ray have to offer. He is a very good combo guard off the bench, but let's be real - he's hardly at the caliber of Rondo.

Hey, my prediction didn't turn out to be true. They started the game and blew them out, but they didn't sustain it. They ended up with the win, and I still contend that the offense runs smoother with West. Tommy Heinsohn: "West really kept the continuity of the game tonight and the rhythm."
Just wondering who that tatted up dude was that was playing PG in the 3rd quarter with the starters who was running the offense so poorly they gave away a 15 point lead in 8 minutes.

That's right it was Delonte West, he of the "the offense runs so much smoother with the starters when West plays with them" statement.

Might want to revise that opinion.

I thought the offense was running pretty smooth at that point. Not as good as the first quarter, obviously. But the offense missed a lot of open shots in that third quarter. Sometime they go in, sometimes they don't.

I can only imagine your response if someone defended Rondo in a game where we barely beat a bottom feeder by saying that we played well to start the game or that the offense missed a bunch of open shots. This was your showcase game to let everyone see how much better we were with Delonte in the game. He was arguably marginally better than Rondo when Rajon's playing well below his normal level.

You're right. This was somewhat of a showcase game for me. The C'd didn't win by the large margin I was expecting, but they still got the win. And as long as Delonte continues to start, I expect a winning streak.

We might win a few games, but when one of your expectations comes true it will have a stopped clock ring to it.

You really still think you're correct?  The problem with the C's the past month-plus is that they have been playing half a game.  Sometimes they start slow and finish strong, and win.  Sometimes they start slow and finish strong, but come up short.  Some times they race out to an early lead and barely hold on, and other times they race out to the lead and give it all away for a loss.  Two exceptions were the Bucks blowout, and the Rockets piece of crap.

At any rate, I saw the same thing I've been seeing for quite some time, the Celtics only playing half a game.  The problem is much deeper than Rondo.  It's bigger than any one player.  I don't know what it is, but they aren't playing with any pride in their game right now.  I personally am going to stop watching games until the playoffs, because it seems like this team has stopped playing.

I did not see the whole game but I did see the 4th qtr.  My impression was that there were more passes for each possession which I think is a positive.  Overall, I would have a hard time saying they were any better than recent play but in that they were not any worse I think is telling.

I think rest will do Rondo some good plus a chance to just watch the game.  I hope he pays attention.  He needs pay more attention to getting the ball moving when he is in the game not just trying to make the pass that gets an assist.

An adjustment by Rondo alone is not going to solve all the problems for example we need an O'Neal back on the court but I think Rondo can really have an impact if he focuses on the right thing.

I get very frustrated watching the C's this time of year.  I can't watch the games entirely because I get p---ed off on how they aren't playing to their ability.

Last night I watch until we were up 25, went to do some stuff, came back and the game was tied at the end of the 3rd.  Really frustrating.

As long as we play scrub teams with bad PG's. But when we play a team like the bulls? No
