I don't know why I respond in threads like this, but Jeff Green is a good player who hopefully will; get better. Jeff Green is not amazing.

what is amazing is that we added a 6'9" swing forward who can finish at the rim, hit jumpshots and has the lunch pail attitude that will make him a better defender and endear him to teammates and fans alike.

kid will play a huge role in our march to 18.

even more amazing we got him AND a 7' center who just dropped 17 pts on the bucks for perk and the the ballboy.

Tossing the good 1st  rounder in almost makes it embarrassing.

To be Devil's advocate:  All your points are moot if the Celtics don't get to the finals.

Jeff Green is NOT Amazing, not unless you are artificially driving down the definition of "Amazing" to make your point.  Would you put Jeff Green in the same category as Blake Griffin?  Bc he is "Amazing."

This trade cannot be properly judged until after the playoffs, pro-Green trade faction can try and convince the rest of the Celtic fans that this trade is all positive, but unless Green and the Celts get to the finals, the trade is a failure.

Andrew Bynum's 17 rebounds and defensive presence v. the Spurs concerns me far more that Jeff Green's 11 pts and 3 rebs. in 27 mins against an undermanned Bucks team.

Really?  And they were guaranteed that prior to the trade with Perkins.  ugh no.

Those hoping for them to lose to prove some ill conceived concept (there is no doubt they got the best player by large margin) have nothing to stand on.  There is no factual basis that they were making any finals with or without this trade. Time to get on board because the trade is over and done and Perkins ain't coming back.

Adamently disagree with this statement.

2011 Bulls, Heat, Magic >> 2010 Cavs, Magic, Hawks
Throw in the current Knicks and Hawks >> 2010 5th and 6th seeds (Heat and Bucks).  The road to the finals is much tougher this season.

The only way your position makes sense re: judging by this year is if the C's end up O'Neal-less, whereas the OKC have a healthy Perk, through the playoffs.  Even at that, you judge an executive by the decisions he's made with the information before him at that time.  Not by subsequent results beyond his control.  If the C's sign Green and Krstic and make a good pick with the Clips' first rounder, the C's may be in a position for another series of runs without missing a beat.  That  too would be enough to overcome the judgment of this season if the C's fall short and the Perk gets healthy.

They are going to make the finals anyway because they are in fact better than they were prior to the trade.  It might take a few weeks for everyone to notice it but, it's clear to some.

Bulls are better, but the Magic are 4 games worse than they were this same time last year, and the Heatles are 6 games worse than last year's cavs.

I predict that if Jeff Green is a Celtic next season, he will be more firmly in the conversation for Sixth Man of the Year than BBD has been this season.
