...get Kapono.

It seems as if the one thing that has always eluded Danny is the ability to get that pure shooter off the bench.

I've always liked JJ Redick, but that's not possible.  The fact that Kapono is available is good for Boston.  My belief (and I have nothing to base this on) is that he's secretly on the top of Danny's wish list.

With Rondo's ability to penetrate, and KG & Shaq posting down low, we need that guy who can spell Ray and provide offense that spot up behind the 3 pt. line and knock 'em down.

I hope we get him.  Nobody's really talking much about him, but I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up here.  If he does that's good news for us.

If no Murphy or Brewer,>>>>>Kapono, Arroyo and some big off the scrap heap (Magloire, Sean Williams, Gadzuric,Earl Barron)

Pick your poison and break glass only in case of fire for the big, though Barron could surprise.

I'd like Kapono because he's only going to get spotty minutes in the playoffs, yet he's the type of shooter who can come in cold and hit shots right away--he doesn't need a ton of mintues to get a rhythm.

Jeff Green and Troy Murphy both far better options than Kapono. He would be a last option in my view.

When you can put Delonte, Wafer, Green, BBD and Krstic on the floor the need for a shooter goes down. Rebounding is also a need.

Kapono is a way better shooter than Wafer, although fairly one dimensional.

Kapono wouldn't sniff the floor. No defense, no rebounding, dumb and hasn't played in awhile. He'd offer less than Michael Finley last season.

It's hard to rebound from the 3pt line, which is why he'd be here--to shoot 3's and spread the floor.

The only way that makes sense is if he'd be brought in just to be used in offensive possessions to close the quarters. Otherwise, he can't just stay in the same spot while the game goes on.

The wing rotation will be Pierce+Ray+Green. Delonte will see some minutes when Doc wants to go with a small backcourt or to defend guys like Kobe and Wade. Wafer is adequate as a 5th wing, he's familiar with the team and the system and he's a superior player to Kapono. And who knows if Kapono can still shoot, how rusty he is.

Kapono has always struck me as a poor man's Kyle Korver (granted that's not the greatest thing to be known as) If all else fails I could see him being our Eddie House this year. Or hell maybe Miami screws up and buys out House (pipe dream).
