I noticed last night that he was often sent those shots at the last second and was forced to take the jumper...for the team.
Out of his range.
Assuming he's trying to be a hero is just silly because he's proven to be a team player...again and again and again.
I say give him a chance to get out of the slump before you send him walking.
If by often you mean one time (that leaning three pointer he took at the end of the shot clock from the bench side of the floor) then you are right. Every other shot he took was wide open from too far out, or a hand in his face with time left on the clock. The ones with the hand in his face were bad shots. The others he just flat out bricked. He played very well last year and was hitting those jumpers and even improved his post play. This year he is shooting too far out and not giving up the ball.
The signing of Troy Murphy today is going to make this solution simple for BBD. Just like the game against the Clips where he was yanked quickly by Doc, he won't have much rope given him. Murphy is a much better shooter and a very good rebounder. Both of those things we need. Look for BBD to spend a lot more time on the bench. Especially when the O'Neals return.
