If Ainge is confident that the O'Neals are healthy for the playoffs, or at least one of them, I doubt he'd hesitate in trading Erden, regardless of where Murphy is going. Erden is an end of bench player, the only way he sees playoff minutes is if both O'Neals are out - and even in that case it'd only be situational minutes, when someone gets in foul trouble and stuff like that. No way he makes the regular playoff rotation.

In that scenario where Boston has guaranties they'll land Troy Murphy, he'd probably shop Glen Davis, not Erden.

Glen Davis is our 6th man and most important bench player, hes untouchable, Glen is leagues and bounds more valuable then Erden to us. Murphy is getting bought out, so a trade isnt needed, just have to get him to accept coming here at a chance of winning a championship.

No bench player is ever untouchable. Of course Davis is way more valuable than Erden - that's exactly the point: he's a better trade asset, even in spite of his contractual situation, that may be be packaged to land a solid player. Erden has negligible trade value, nobody is going to give talent for him. So, if Davis becomes expendable, of course Ainge would shop him for a wing.

This is an hypothetical, I don't think the Celtics land Murphy - exactly because Murphy will look for minutes. Minutes and touches will be way more important for Murphy than a chance of winning a championship, he needs to work for his next contract (in any case, some clubs offer him the two possibilities).

At this point it's more likely that Perkins gets traded than Davis.  Anything can happen but, if you trade 1 of the 2 to houston it won't be for a backup 3 since that wouldn't make sense.  Erden would have to be a throw in to even up salaries.  So I suspect he won't be going anywhere.

Regarding Murphy I think of the teams he's being mentioned with Boston is is his most likely destination.  I wonder if Harangody has any pull with him...

Murphy/Boston sounds to good to be true.

I think two guys had a bet:

What's the over/under on the number of Celticsblog forum posts if someone (cough, cough) sets up a fake twitter account and says Semih Erden is being traded somewhere?

I'll take the over.

But this "fake" account was made a while ago and like people said it gave away free tickets and things.

You don't do that if it's fake?

The turkish on the website is fragmented and incomplete.  He goes from no tweeting in English with phrases like these to tweeting English in three days.

Dileyra üzüntülü       Dileyra sad

I istekliyim           I am willing

go trabzonspur!        trabzonspur go!

Tavana_nn_a şüphesiz   Tavana_nn_a şüphesiz

The first column is Turkish.  The second is english translation. The final comment isn't even turkish.

I read this article which says it a disputed comment and hints it may be false.

What one has to ask himself is how would a guy go from Tweeting in Turkish to English in three days?   Why would he not keep tweeting in Turkish as well for his Turkish fans?  The phrase structure of the English is also better than the Turkish.    This looks like a prank from someone who used Google Translator which is what I did to look these comments up.

Very elaborate prank with not a very good punch line.

Ironically enough, if the C's were to sign Murphy, Harangody would be the likeliest to be released, unless the C's can trade a player for a pick or something to free up a roster spot.

So I'm not saying this is definitely Semih's account or anything, I have no clue, but your reasoning as to why it's not doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Why would Semih go from Tweeting in Turkish to English??? Umm because he moved from Turkey to the US. And he joined the Boston Celtics, and like he said, he had all these new American followers since he's an NBA player on one of the most popular teams in America. If he kept tweeting in Turkish, how many American fans would follow him?

His English is actually really bad in his tweets, so I mean I don't see that as a reason why it couldn't be him.

I mean either Gomesfan is making the free tickets thing up and he actually is the one who made the account, which is why he keeps plugging his own twitter in this forum hahaha, or maybe it's Semih's. second thought, maybe it is gomesfan.
