What is the incentive?

They have little need for a SF.

They have two strong defensive C.  They remember how he played as a starter last year.

Why strengthen a potential finals match-up that much?

Don't know why Miami is so eager to unload Miller.  His shooting is below his standards thus far, but that'll come around and he's rebounding like a demon (over 9 per 36 from the wing!).
I think its more that they just recognize their need for a defensive Big

I would not say either of their present C is strong on D.   Zydrunas is very old and slow and more a spot shooter offensive guy.  Dampier is a softie who played for the Mavs for years.  Neither is a solid defender.

I think they are just trying to acquire pieces and hope they fit.  This team would have been a lot more dangerous if they had a PG one of those SG/SF and Bosh.  They have redundant pieces that don't mesh well against good teams.

God, I hope they don't get him... he is a really good player. He also is one of the only guys in hoops that has the attitude advantage over Perk. He is a bully and a decently polished offensive player at times. That might put them over the top.
