how about old friend Ryan Gomes?  he's got a 3 year deal at $4M per which matches up with Nate's 2 yr deal

the issue, of course, why would LAC want Nate over Ryan - just to save a year?  doesn't make much sense unless they are hurting for a gunner PG (they are not)

so, would they go for Marquis' expiring and Bradley and/or Luke?

and no, I'm not letting this fascination with Gomes die - I will NOT

so I guess my idea is:

Avery Bradley & Marquis (expiring deal)
for
Ryan Gomes

and a bonus: maybe we can convince LAC to waive Marquis and re-sign him for the rest of the year - just in case he recovers

With Baron Davis and Eric Bledsoe playing so well ... I don't think LAC will have any interest in losing a useful rotation player for another PG.

Why? Gomes was never really that good.

I'd rather have Gomes in the Big Baby role than the Daniels role.  I say no to this as long as we have Baby.  I don't like Gomes at the 3.

Might as well give Harangody minutes at the 3 if there's a vision of Gomes playing there for us.  They're essentially the same player.  Both appear too slow to play the 3 and too small to get meaningful minutes at the 4.

I love the idea of getting Gomes to backup Pierce.

I think the Celtics pass because of his third year.

One guys is an established NBA player, one isn't. But I'd agree in the sense... I'm not sure Gomes cures what ails us.
