It's posturing and little else, I agree he is a psuedo tough guy.  He is big and strong but would probably poop his pants and do those wild over head slaps that NBA players do all too often instead of straight forceful punches designed to knock someone out.  Its unmanly anyways to pick on someone a foot shorter than yourself.  Even if you win, you lose face, trust me.

So, basically he can't win a fight vs 99% of the population?

He didn't push the ref he knocked his arm off him, big difference.   Though still not wise, to do by a long shot.  His intensity is what makes him good folks, you can't have it both ways.   He is pretty laid back compared to Dave Cowens.

He might be laid back compared to Cowens...But Cowens kept his intensity within the game.  Within basketball.

Also a big difference in eras.  Kennedy and O'Brien weren't the NBA's policemen like Stern is today.  The players policed themselves.  I can't imagine what a Silas, Thurmond, Unseld, etc would have done if anybody did the kind of yapping and taunting that Garnett gets away with now.  They'd have flattened Garnett.

Usually KG does as well. Sometimes though emotional players can get carried away. KG just needs to tone it down a tad. None of us want him suspended.

I love how everyone on here feels that they have the right to judge with skewed evidence.  I agree KG was a bit out of hand last night, and walked a thin line over an ejection, but all of these judgments being made on him are based on what you see as a fan from a far, what idiots on twitter post and you blindly believe, or pure judgment of what you see on the court with no recollection of what is being said on the court.

If KG is such an emotional guy, then couldn't another player really p--- him off just by saying something extremely rude or personal to counter KG's playful trash talk?  KG trash talks about the game and that is it.  He may swear, he may yell, he may use symbolism to get his point out there, but I doubt he goes around instigating comments like "your a cancer" if some young punk doesn't first disrespect him by: saying something fight worthy (mother comments etc), or disrespect him as a veteran in this league. (he is a 14 time allstar, has a ring etc.)

I believe the point of this thread was that KG is highly over emotional right now, and that punk players are realizing this and trying to beat KG at his own game of mental intimidation.

Barrera's play looked bad at first, but upon slow mo replay, you can see KG barely creating space with his hand and Barrera clearly flopping, almost to the point that he made it look like KG shot him up in the air like a Hollywood boxing match.  Then, you will see Barrea (how is he in the nba?)laughing after the play like KG is the crazy one.  Upon further review you will see that Barrea grabs KG's one arm (the one he pulled away) alone, instead of "wrapping him up" as your supposed to with two arms in that type of play, also you have no idea what Barrea said to him as he hooked his one arm cheaply.  Now, in saying all this am I stating that KG has been smart about the way he carries himself on the court lately?  NO.  He should be outsmarting these players and not letting them vilify him through cheap flops, stare downs and crying to the media when he is mean to them.

Having said that, I am shocked that some of you are echoing the the thoughts of our opponents twitter feeds.  "He's a pseudo tough guy, probably couldn't really fight" Thank you Jokim Noah, err, I mean three people on this board. Way to drink the kool aid of the other teams propaganda feed.

And again, my main point is this: you have little to NO idea what is being said on the court, and until they mic up every player in the league this is all speculation on your part, based upon the brief interactions on the court, or the follow up stories which are heavily manipulated by the media in order to create some drama.
Truuuuuuuuuth!

Are you related to Tommy? You can judge people based on their actions. I don't care what the media or other players are saying.  I WATCH every Celtics game. I can SEE KG intentionally walking into other players, stirring things up and some of the cheap stuff he does. I don't care about the trash talk. Players will do that. A lot of what he does is just stupid, childish and annoying. My opinion of course.

KG is who he is and its why we love him as a Celtic but would hate him if he wasnt....My curiosity is how are these antics affecting the other guys on the floor? I wonder if it ever throws off their game when distracted by an emotional moment...

He has been throwing people off there game and getting in peoples heads for years. Chandler wasn't his typical self he looked bothered by KG almost the whole game.

I wouldn't hate KG if he weren't a Celtic.  His fire and intensity and competitiveness is what I love to see from any athlete.  I honestly think he would be one of my favorite players in the league regardless of what team he played for (minus the Lakers obviously).

I was a huge Rasheed fan all through his Piston days.  It's why I always had a certain level of respect for Ron Artest.

It's why I hate Charlie V. or Vince Carter.

I don't know these guys personally and I don't care if some people worry that they represent Boston or the celtics in the wrong way.

I wanna see as much passion from these guys as possible, and when a player as passionate as KG comes along you embrace it because theres not many people quite like him.
When I'm in the gym...I like to grunt when  I get my swell on... That way everyone can see how jacked and tan I am.

He is acting crazier than usual as of late. I personally don't mind though.

I wouldn't hate him if he were on another team. I loved him in Minny. But I don't recall him being like this there (at least not as often), but of course I didn't watch him nearly as much as I have since coming here.

Still, opposing players (like Chandler last night) still say they love to compete against him, and we love watching him, so it's all good.

It is a medical fact after several concussion type smacks one's personality can change. It has been easily evidenced that KG has had head trauma this season.
