Von looked completely lost at the begining of the year.  Maybe it was just adjusting to the system and learning to play D.  But he's been great the past couple of weeks.  A decent defender, he can take it to the hole, and he's even shown some play making abilities; not really sure Nate can do any of these.  Plus Von can shoot the 3 ball and is a good free throw shooter.

I checked the box score last night and Von actually got more minutes than Nate, 6 to 5.  And this was mostly a close game, not a garbage fest where end of the bench guys get more minutes than usual. So perhaps Doc is slowly making the shift?  This may all be irrelevant when West comes back, but I think the solution to the Nate problem is Von. Nate is not going to be traded because there simply is no demand for him.

It's not a bad idea considering Von Wafer is taller for the 2 spot and has improved his defense. I wouldn't cut out Nate's minutes completely but if Von is playing well you have to let him ride his streak. Now if both players were on a cold streak I'd say give the minutes to Nate.

I recently read or got reminded that Doc has said that although he doesn't have much issues with Nate's shot selection he prefers that he did not drive to the hoop due to his size. Why limit a scorer? Weird to me.

I think Von has been a lot better than most expected and I for one am glad we signed him and kept him.

Nate is most effective when he drives hard and pulls up for the 10-15 footer, which he usually hits. I think Doc does not like it when he takes it all the way to the hole, and gets blocked.

I enjoy watching Wafer play and Im glad that he has improved so much. His defense has improved immensely since the beginning of the year and he seems to be more comfortable with his offense as of late. I wouldnt mind seeing him get more minutes, especially with Nate in a slump.

I'm happy with Von Wafer too, but wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket and exclude Nate. Nate has proven, over time, to be a very good 3 pt shooter and has done well in other areas.

This is definitely a good situation we're dealing with.

Both players are more than capable of getting solid points for us off the bench, but both do it in different ways.

i actually think playing them together would help too. wafer drives and can kick it to nate on the outside. our bench rotation for 1,2, and 3 spot is nate/wafer/quisy/dwest. depending on matchups, 2 or 3 of them will get the majority of the minutes.

the one reason why id prefer wafer or nate is that when nate is in the game and is up against a solid pg, he gets owned, simply because of his size. so from a defensive perspective, wafer might be the better candidate at this point. i would love to see a line up of dwest, wafer, quisy, bbd, shaq/perk/erdin. i like our options.
