I agree with the OP (TP)
I'd rather have Carl Landry this year, because he'll contribute more in the bench offense. He's a better scorer, an more of a 3/4, so he probably would mesh well with the O'Neal brothers and Perk.
Otherwise, Thompson seems like the best fit longterm. He's a good rebounder and has length, wich is always a positive. The Celtics need good rebounders to ignite the fastbreak, and Rondo + JT seems a good combination.
I don't know if financial savings are enough for Sacramento to make the deal, but I guess BBD wants more playing time and money than DA is willing to offer, so DA would pull the trigger.
