Trade ID #5767942

Orlando gets:  Beasley, Pekovic, Ridnour, Rubio
Minny gets:     Bass, Gortat, Nelson

Orlando realizes they can't make they finals, gives up on this year and attempts to tweak their future.....On the other hand, Ridnour starting for Nelson and Beasley for Bass might not kill their starting unit.....their bench would suffer though...it would mean for backup bigs more minutes for Ryan Anderson, Pekovic and rush Daniel Orton along......Orlando hopes Rubio and Beasley become all-stars.

Rubio, Carter, Lewis, Beasley, Howard      (don't know Carter's contract but they aim for next SG if not Reddick)

Minny gets needed backup bigs, more balanced and more experienced.

Nelson, Brewer, Johnson, Love, Milicic
Bass, Gortat, M. Webster, Flynn

with high draft pick still coming in.....

Basically, Orlando takes a gamble on two unready players who have more potential than Bass or Gortat, replacing Nelson with Ridnour for the right to take this chance.  Or maybe the trade would work with Flynn instead of Ridnour if they preferred.

Terrible.

I still think they are the 2nd best team in the East.

I think it is only a matter of time to Reddick starts hitting his shots and Lewis and Bass are the starting F.

Double terrible.

The Magic are the second best team in the east and if they start playing a little more team defense then we'll be seeing them in the Eastern conference finals....Why would they trade three core players for a head case with potential, a third string point guard, and a point guard that hasnt shown any interest in leaving over seas to come to the NBA.

The Magic clearly aren't the second best team in the east, and if Chicago, Miami, and the Celtics are healthy for the playoffs, they probably won't make it out of the second round.  Vince and Rashard just aren't dependable enough.  Dwight Howard can't carry that team on his own except against teams that are really weak inside.  They also lack a killer instinct.

All of that said, this trade sucks.

The Magic should look to trade either Vince Carter or Rashard Lewis in my opinion. Neither seem to be producing exceptionally.

They were looking pretty good until the team got the flu. I think it's a little early to put the Bulls ahead of them.

Please remind me who they were beating? I remember them getting hosed by Miami - which they avenged (sort of) - but who exactly did they beat that was impressive?

I think the Bulls will be tougher when fully healthy.

They're post-flu now, and still not really impressing.  They're hitting that same sort of slump they hit last year during January, only they're hitting it in early December.  Not a great sign for them.  Plus, they're bench hasn't been as great as everybody thought it'd be, and both Vince and Rashard have been really unreliable.

The Magic are just not a very impressive team right now.  They're better than the Bulls only because the Bulls don't have a full, healthy starting lineup and haven't all year.
