Have any of you guys ever had both and have any strong opinions?  I'm willing to think of comcast too.

I basically have Direct Tv and think it may be cheaper to pay to get out of my contract and go with dish.

I had Dish for ~2 years just for the League Pass (well just for Celtics games  ;)) being in Florida.

I got rid of it during the offseason once to save money and swithced to Direct TV and quit after 2 months (and paid a big penalty) b/c they lied about getting my local channels (no NBC affiliate or ABC meaning I would miss a bunch of Nat'l Celtics games).

Dish didn't require a contract and I find the interface/DVR setup much more intuitive (though it may also be b/c I've had it so long).

I hate Direct TV for lying then holding me to their ****ing contract so I always suggest folks be real careful with them.

The only hiccup i've had with Dish --- which led to DirectTV in the first place briefly --- was they didn't have the League Pass contract yet when the 2009-10 season was starting. They ended up getting it by the start of the season but they were a bit in the dark b/c of contract negotiations.

Other than that I've always had good experiences with Dish and won't ever use DirecTV.
