I bet the Titans contacted Randy's agent before they bothered to put a claim in. No team wanted him to not report and mess with their team.

Pretty interesting.

The Titans were the only team to claim Randy Moss

Money is the cause of Randy Moss' discontent this season.  It's the reason the Titans will be his third team in a month.

The Patriots didn't give Moss the contract extension he wanted, so he began to make life difficult for them.  There have been more questions than normal about Moss' effort this season, with a nagging belief that Moss is trying to protect his moneymaking legs for one last contract.

The irony is that Moss has torpedoed his free agent value with his actions since August.  That can be seen most clearly by the fact the Titans were the only team to put a waiver claim on him, per Michael Lombardi of NFL Network.

The Dolphins desperately could use a deep threat, but didn't claim him for his talent or to "block" the Patriots.  The Redskins, Raiders, Jets, and Seahawks similarly passed. New England didn't want him back at his current salary.

In the end, 31 teams decided that Moss wasn't worth less than $3.5 million over nine weeks for a playoff push.  If Kenny Britt didn't pop his hamstring against the Chargers it may have been 32 teams.

Perhaps this will serve as a wakeup call for Moss that he needs to play nice in Tennessee.  He also has to produce big numbers in the Titans offense to avoid the same contractual fate as Terrell Owens: a series of increasingly small one-year deals.

We suspect the damage may already be too great for Moss to recover from.

I don't think they were allowed to have any contact with him or his agent until the waiver process was completed.  I wouldn't mess with Goddell on something like that, either.
