If possible, now that this is getting interesting w/ so many older players ... if we could sign up Hakeem at Vet's min, just to open up the game, would that be worth it in 2011-12? Imagine the opener, with 5-7 mins of Rondo feeding him the ball, and banging it down low? And that's it because as we know, a 40-something player only has that in the tank for a full NBA game.

Realize, the formula up until that last game of the finals was that the team which wins Q1, wins the game.

Thus, signing another Michael Finley wingman would be a mistake, since wingmen need to be young to be effective. Thus, all bench wings need to be young and athletic.

At 48 years old?  I'm sure he's lost a ton of his athleticism and strength.  Hakeem would struggle on both offense and defense.

I'M THE SILVERBACK GORILLA IN THIS MOTHER... AND DON'T NONE OF YA'LL EVER FORGET IT!

KP / Giannis / Turkuglu / Jrue / Curry
Sabonis / Brand / A. Thompson / Oladipo / Brunson
Jordan / Bowen

Hakeem was a shadow of himself 10 years ago.  No chance he comes anywhere close to making a team at this point.

Why Hakeem?  He only won two Championships.

Go for a REAL winner.  A big man with as many championship rings as he has fingers.  You know who I'm talkin' about...

Here's Dr Bob Delmonteque, slightly over 90, and in great shape.

At most, a 48 year old Hakeem can burst for 5 mins. That's it, I'm asking for 300 secs of the Dream Shake. The rest of the time, he can socialize with the fans and such.

Anyone see Hakeem on Pros Vs. Joes?  He was getting destroyed by McNabb, TO, and Antonio Gates...

Actually, MORE championship rings than fingers (unless Mr. Russell has a mysterious 11th finger we don't know about...maybe that's how he blocked all those shots...).

LOL, I saw that.  McNabb looked pretty good.  He was knocking down 3's.  We could use McNabb. ;D

It's funny, in the 90's, I would see Wilt, and think man dude still looks strong and athletic, like he could give a team 15 minutes a game.  But Russell on the other hand (talking 10-15 years ago when he I could compare him to Wilt) looked so old, like he would need a walker to get up and down the court.

Not hating on Russell, I just thought Wilt looked so much younger and fit then Russell in their older years (despite just a 2 year ages difference).  Of course Russell's gray hair and old school style didn't help, as opposed to Wilt's more hipper style.

Thought Wilt looked a lot more fit than Kareem too in later years despite being more than 10 years older.
