but my vote would be KG as "biggest year"
defensive player of year, 10 rebounds a game, keep his shooting touch looking awesome from last year etc

I'm pretty sure KG never averaged 10 boards a game with the celtics including the championship year. i think people are being overly optimistic about him next year. at best he will produce the way he did in the playoffs which was a notch above what he did in the regular season. that means in the ballpark of 15pts 6 rbds, 3 assists, 1 block, 1 steal. Dont forget he's turning 35 by the end of the season... players don't all of a sudden get better. with all due respect, fact of the matter is KG is on the downside and there's no wayy to reverse that.
Don't get me wrong here because I'm not trying to bash KG but not only will he be 35 when the season ends but he will also be finishing up his 16th year. He already is 19th all-time in minutes played and 44th all-time in games played. If he plays 70 games at 30 MPG at the end of the year he will be in the top 15 for minutes played in a career and top 30 for games played in a career.

When reaching those milestones, players tend downward in their performances, not upward.
yeah i don't think kg averaged 10 a game as a c either BUT I'm thinking he is going to come back and look like he did in playoffs
we get the oneil boys to box out and more rebounds will be falling the celtics way, I could be wrong but I think in minny kg was 10 and slightly over

I voted for Ray.  I agree that he plays 100% better when he knows that his future is stable.  I also agree that he was on fire...until that knee in the thigh.(thanks a lot, Thugtest.  ::))  I expect all of the C's to be hungry and have a great season.

I can't believe Pierce only has two votes. He has been having the biggest years on the C's since 1998.

Well, he's got 4 now.

The Captain and the team will have a fine year. We are stronger overall than last year, and will reach our peak once Perk returns. Perk is our young Bruiser.

As far as the poll I'll give Rondo the slight edge. I look for Rondo's assists to approach Nash-Like levels this year, with a healthier KG, a mobile finisher like J.O, and Shaq.

This is not even counting the usual suspects for Rondo (Ray and Pierce).

Yes. And to elaborate:

It's pretty infeasible to believe that Pierce, Ray, or KG are going to suddenly have better years.

BBD having a big year means Garnett is out for extended amounts of time, which means we don't win trophies.

Perkins is gone til the new year.

Nate having a big year means Rondo is out for extended amounts of time.

Quis having a big year means that pigs can fly and farts smell like rainbow sherbert.

Rondo is the only guy that can really have a big year and the team still succeed.

like that is always lethal." - Evan 'The God' Turner

I think Ray will have the most consistent year but I predict Paul (assuming - and I think he will - he avoids the injury big contrary to last season) will have the biggest year. Returning from an injury-plagued season, being labeled "old", "already broken down", etc, Paul will have a very strong "comeback" season in my opinion.

I expect Rondo to improve his game but not necessarily to have the biggest year in terms of stats and big games/memorable performances. But maybe we're just used to Rondo's awesomeness now so we're kind of expecting it as a given.
