Are there better, more 'up to date' salary sites out there? I'd like to have a better idea of what teams are able to do going forward.

Those are the two I always check when I am looking for salary info.

It looks like ESPN's Trade Machine has been somewhat updated to reflect the new year and some of the newest signings that have been made official.

shamsports is awesome. they even have the cap holds in an easy to read set up, along with the bird rights still held for older players.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Here's a pretty good site that releases contract info:

There's a very good spreadsheet of this information here:

(I'm not sure how updated it is, and he tips his cap to shamsports.)

According to the site above, the Heat still managed to save $8.2 million in cap room, even when accounting for cap charges / holds.  Very impressive.

The tax savings has reared it's head as a huge advantage. Without it, I don't think Riley could have pulled this off.

BTW Roy, http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0AodNvAy3ZYZmdGk5cXZIS2c0cHowVlhoY29mVkR3SXc&gid=3 is exactly what I was lookning for. Thanks.
